Soooooo......

We're still looking for a church ourselves in the Phoenix valley. People on this board have suggested all sorts of churches and almost to the man (and woman) they have asked us what type of church we would prefer. In other words they have asked "Do you want a more liberal church, or conservative, or something inbetween? Are you looking for UPC or non-denominational, or more charismatic?".

Are you insulted when I say I do NOT want a more conservative UPC church?

Or, as has been insinuated to me on other boards, am I in automatic rebellion for not seeking out the most ultra conservative church we can find?

I can't remember if you already talked about this but have you checked out Christ Life Church in Tempe founded by the late Jim Roam and now pastored by Phil Goldsberry?

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

You may have, but I am writing it down now.
There are quite a few members here who live in this area and have received quite a few suggestions.
I thank everyone!

Minty,
Have you thought about checking out this church:

The fact that they still have a Sunday evening service speaks volumes to me.

The problem here, that no one seems to be getting, is that this person goes on the WPF thread (when there are PLENTY of other threads to go on) and on THIS PARTICULAR WPF thread, they say they are looking for a church... but no WPF church! Was this person trying to start something up? I think so. I want this person to just come out and admit, "I'm a fire-starter, I just wanted to bug a few people with my blatant stupditiy..." Myself and holinesspk were bugged at how someone would go and do and say this, and on the WPF thread of all places. The WPF has had enough junk said at it, and now this Minty person figures they'll throw one more passive-aggressive stone.

GOD BLESS!
Bro. Alex

Ummmmm, this one does as well... http://www.ttchurch.com/

In fact, there are only a few oneness churches in the area that do not have a Sun. night service. This is still a relatively "Bible-Belt" type area in CA.

This discussion is posted under "Tulsa Tango."

Mr. Stewart, you had just said something like, "Oh, it's probably this or that" I forget the exact quote, and I just reiterated that I thought the original poster was acting stupidly.

GOD BLESS!
