5. Contrary to allegations, my basic positions on holiness have remained the same. You can see this for yourself if you will read In Search of Holiness (1981, 2nd edition 2006) and Practical Holiness (1985); compare them with our church’s “Guidelines for Leadership and Public Ministry” in my book Growing a Church (2001); and then visit our church in Austin today. You will see that the growth of my family, the growth of our church, or my being elected as district superintendent has not changed my teachings. Moreover, the books are clear; you can easily understand my position on holiness from them.
Has DB always maintained his current view on facial hair throughout these books and position statements? Does anyone have some data to support this?

So he has changed in some of his views? ... if so, how does he reconcile this w/ this statement:

I also have seen evidence of shifting on the technology issue, mainly TV ... as shown in his letters regarding TV ...

He does think that changes to the present position may need to happen due to innovations in technology.

I see your point, SS. He's trying to show that he hasn't changed but perhaps he has. This is a tightrope act, IMO.

Yet ... w/ both issues he's matured because he has seen cultural and technological forces that have called him to question previously held positions.
