Since the entire supposed reason for this new org. to form is to seperate itself from libs in the UPC and what they do I don't think they are inviting this man to try and persuade him to become a member.

Since this megachurch is an old established one with roots in both the UPC and ALJC is it possible that they want this pastor there just as an observer so he can report back what went one without anything being distorted or assumed by mods and libs?

Also possibly as a check and balance to make sure right spirits are kept and they don't cross any lines and move into acrimony.

If that is the case, it might be a good thing, however, are these men really looking for outside reinforcement?

If they wanted checks and balances, well they are leaving a whole organization of people with differing viewpoints. That is one of the great things about being part of a large organization, you have all sides of the issues represented, it is how you balance each other.

I thought that the reason that these men were leaving was that they couldn't "compromise" their beliefs. Why would they be looking for balance at this point?
