If they ain't in the same ship they need to sail off.........
Sounds a lot like something Jesus would say doesn't it???? Or maybe not!

What happened to the UPCs stance against Radio? Do you suppose that the slippery slope of broadcasting on Radio led us to this TV issue?

This is so true and can bring tears of frustration. It's what our youth see. Sometimes the lure of Babylon feels much happier and peaceful than the fight.

In a way it reminds me of the words of Kenneth Levin, a clinical instructor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and a commentator on Israeli politics,

"...in the words of Prime Minister Olmert, "tired of fighting... tired of being courageous... tired of winning... tired of defeating our enemies..." This dangerous mind-set, the desperate wish for an end to the hostility of surrounding states, and the concomitant embrace of delusions of peace, are as great a threat to Israel as the strategic challenges posed by its enemies."

All the political stuff can just make you tired.....

If, like Brother Ewing, we could bring down walls with love we would really see an awesome move of God and would rejoice......

I will say that this thread help clearify something.

I have been to conferences in years past and have heard preachers either say or yell out (during the preaching)

"don't divide the baby!"

Now I know where it came from, it must have been influenced by this message in 1977 from ME.

I will NEVER forget the times growing up in the 70's when my mother would put on an LP and play it over and over of Bro. Ewing singing with his deep and smooth voice. God Bless Bro. Ewing!

ME used to be a fixture at the Home Missions Services over the past few years at General Conference. Shame he has been "phased out." There was nothing like his voice at General Conferences.

My apologies.

Bro. Ewing has as sweet a spirt as he has a smooth voice.

I love to hear him sing!

My Uncle had occasion to broadcast Harvestime on a 50000 watt superstation back about 25 or 30 yrs ago. As I recall his story- was a very good price, but turned down for this was a "rock station." He declined offers to advertise for free on the local cable stations 5 yrs ago.

I dislike the way this resolution was written last year, and do think it needs to be rejected for the same reasons. I see the "Keyboard Quarterbacking" is a moot point to those who do not have a vote (sorry Ferd). The technology amendment is dated and the real task is to update what is there, not remove something from 1950/1977/1992/2000/2006/2007.

I am curious if we are really prepared for TV Ads when we cannot get Overhead at GC, or Internet ads in place yet.

I would imagine that very few Church's/Ministries of the UPC have the fiances to broadcast ads on TV for any lenght of time, let alone pay for air time of a 30 to 60 minute service.
