What exactly did the affirmation in 1992 do? What was it's purpose?

I think I'll post on the Honor thread - - these one seems to have taken a different route.

Yep, start a good thread and it gets hijacked every time.

I agree with you, that Bro Kilgore deserves honor....not rehashing past things deemed regrettable. God forgives AND forgets thank goodness.

For the record........

What was discussed in regard to the AS was not meant in any way shape or forum as disrespect to Bro. Kilgore. It's very obvious that everyone taking part in the discussion loves and respects Bro. K highly.

You need to learn to read comprehensively maybe. Honour was paid to Bro. Kilgore and he will always be honoured and respected and loved, but that doesn't mean history will be ignored either.

All I've ever heard about Brother Kilgore has been good. I haven't met him, personally, but he sounds like one of the best men in the UPC.

Consapostolic, the only thing that I can say the affirmation statement of 1992 does is just reaffirms what ministers agreed to when they signed for their license in the first place. My husband tells me this, and he's had his license many years.

That being said, it seems like so many people have a different opinion......and that just baffles me....it really does.

Maybe it's just the days we're living in.

Dean. NOBODY on here has given This great man ANYTHING but honor.
Appears to me you want to just make an issue of this. I find it funny you change the name of the thread. I Praised him and then gave what I know to be factual. Bro. Strange, who has known the man most of his life backs up what I say and continues to give the great man honor, and rightly so. BUT funny you target me in the thread title.
