The percentage of blacks killing other blacks compared to whites? Not even worth mentioning. Its not even in the same zip code. The percentage of black fathers running out on the mothers of their children compared to whites? Again...through the roof.
There is a HUGE and offensive problem in the black community that no one is even allowed to talk about without people like YOU JD crying and whining "Oh that's racist". You are the problem. Not people who see the issue and dare talk about it.
I detest Jeb, but he is right. We need to quit subsidizing irresponsible behavior with constant hand outs no matter what color the offenders skin is.

1) If he really wants to have a constructive conversation about any of the issues you have raised, why begin the dialogue by implicating a whole race of people for the actions of a minority amount in a minority population?
2) His statement is a reference to the racist notion of blacks being lazy. Other GOP'ers in recent history have used that line of thinking to sure up their conservative credentials. It is popular to thought to have among many in the GOP-- "We can save money by cutting those programs that benefit those lazy black people." The reality is that there are lazy people of all races, but the GOP singles out blacks because it is an old, racist stereotype that many white Republicans still hold to be true.
3) Blacks don't vote for Democrats for free anything. Most of us vote Democrat because of their stance on Civil Rights and equality. Often, the Republicans ostracize black people while the Democrats embrace all people.
4) If you had bother to read any of my previous posts on this thread, there is no way you could possibly think I would be against having the hard conversation, in the right setting.

See...just about anything a white man says, especially a Republican, it will be used no matter his intent.
Jeb does not strike me as the kind that panders to a certain group like that...in fact that is probably why he lags behind in the polls

Scapegoats for what? What if you are wrong about Jeb?

you haven't proven such is the case. It seems his remarks were more about what the Democrats are doing, not what blacks are doing.
He is comparing the Republicans with Democrats and how each approaches voters.

Re: Jeb Bush-- I Couldn't Make This Up Myself!
And WHO do you think would be better received in middle of a hard conversation on race in America-- Republican Rand Paul who has made a significant effort to reach out to black Americans or Republican Jeb Bush who just lumped all of us together as lazy freeloaders?
Jeb Bush is not a Jim Crow era racist. Most GOP'ers are not. However, they employ an us vs. them tactic that puts blacks on the defensive over and over because of their allusions, sometimes subtle, sometimes brazen, to old, racist stereotypes.

I would give that Republican the benefit of doubt in what he has said if not for the Republicans before him making the same kind of racial implications. This, "blacks are lazy, freeloaders, etc" kind of thinking goes back to the 1980's and before. The GOP played the race card to win back then and they still do it today. For some within the GOP, blacks are their favorite scapegoat.

So it's okay to stereotype republicans but not okay to stereotype blacks.

1. He didn't implicate blacks, he implicated that blacks were tired of the democratic message which he summarized as "do what you were told, get in line and we will help you out with free stuff".
2. In fact, what he did was the exact opposite of calling blacks lazy. He stated they would come to him because of his message of "earned success". He stated they would come to him so they didnt have to get in line do what they were told just in order to get free stuff to survive.
3. And now we have more stereotyping from a black man about republicans being mean to black people...

Reading Comprehension and not emotionalism will win the day!
Jeb Bush did the exact opposite of calling blacks lazy. He said they would vote for him because his message was of earned success (earned success is not lazy). He said they would vote for him because they don't want to be taken care of by anyone (with free stuff for their cooperation), instead they want to take care of themselves.
Oh and more republican stereotyping... Stop doing the very thing you preach against!
