Sister Rhoni,
Don't worry I don't need to calm down.I am not that emotional.
Its possible that your own world view is described in your posting.
You went through some terrible times and had alot of hopes and dreams
wrapped up in that marriage that included the future. No one can fault
that.Women are brought up to see the world from that view.My moms
generation thought it better to sacrifice your life and get behind a man
and help him be successful and for some it is a key to success. They
never thought that they could be successful alone.Marriage and children
was preached as the ultimate climax of womenhood. Many of these same
women faced emotional destruction as men they have supported let them
down and left them for women they thought were better suited for their new successful lifestyles.(thus the invent of valium)That is why we have to rely on God for our own souls. We cannot be
co-dependant.God we can depend on.He will never let us down.
Probably the best thing that can happen to a person though it hurts is to have to depend on God.lv sis.c

Hmmmmmm
My Isn't that a novel idea for Apostolic young people.
"Doing something for God".
Not really expecting/wanting to excel in the secular world, but dedicating one's life to God.
That still amazes me, a life of sacrifice for the Kingdom of God.
I thank God for young people that focus their lives on "doing something for God" and the men and women that help equip them in their decision to "do something for God".

Texas Bible College is fine I am sure but I have heard they have some pretty wild deans and instructors. Probably a bunch of snake handlers or "wildfire" folks.

Yeah and they have bon fires and such.I am sure this has to lead to worldliness after all we only want our young people to sit with stoic looks on their faces and never laugh or have fun.I am sure this all leads to BEER!

Dear Sis. T,
You are totally correct...I do see from my worldview. The things I went through in the past , although they have a bearing on who I have became, do not hold any power or control of me or my emotions any longer.
Last week I was speaking with a friend and as we talked about old times at JCM, I remembered that many of the traits I possess today, I possessed back then...I just didn't realize it.
Many of the women I know, who are in the same position as I am...like myself, were 'trained' to be good, supportive wives to their spouse's ministries. The men just forgot that they were supposed be supportive of their wives also.
I think my post was also misunderstood by some..the same "some" who only see me through their worldview: My statement about 'success' was in reference to being financially self-supporting through the Bible College process. Most that I went to Bible College with were PK's who's parents paid their way so they could party and act out. Many, like myself worked 1-3 jobs to pay their way through. There were a few, the girls I remember were nurses or had training in medical records and could work a job pulling in good income to pay their school bill as well as have money for play.
While many of the married ministry couples sacrificed in home missions or evangelized...others were better prepared with their background and training to be better off financially. This in no wise is compared to success in the ministry itself.
I gave my youth to Christ and doing God's work. I gave my young adulthood into early middle age to ministry side by side with my EX-husband. I am giving my mature years also to Christ and ministry in the ways that God leads...this is all I know and want to know.
Love & Blessings, Sis. Rhoni

If I
remember right they did not back women in ministry whatsoever. In fact one of the classes was the Role of the Shepherdess.Which is good if you are going to be a preachers wife but what if you are a preacher or a teacher?Sorry I disagree.I think our young women ought to
be doing the ministries God called them to do as well. Its a sacrifice to send my daughter to bible college but for the will of God I will gladly take on other shifts and work harder.Sorry sis I disagree.Had I gone to bible college ministry would have not been as hard and I would have had a more realistic look at it.Some people do ministry for a vocation.Sorry I disagree.

I'm with ya....and don't let people get to you about the whole "not being able to get a good job after Bible school" stuff. I found an accredited college that took all my JCM credits. I just had to get my core subjects out of the way first (that they didn't offer at JCM)...so I went one semester and got math and science out of the way, then went on to get my Master's Degree in elementary education. As a matter of fact, I have several friends in Louisiana, Texas, and Indiana who did the same thing. I taught seven years in public school making decent money and am now in a Christian school. And if it's MINISTRY people want to talk about, I've seen about ten of our kids get the Holy Ghost in the past year, and we just baptized a parent this past Sunday night.
Go with your heart on this one.

Lisa,
But in order to get your teaching degree you had to go to an accredited college regardless of the fact that you had some credits transfer ! No one is doubting your ministry...but you did get a higher education than BC!
Welcome...
Blessings, Rhoni

Good grief!
Aren't you the one that always brags about your degrees?
Yet, you are having trouble finding a job?
