agreed. that is why I suggest he will be more of a factor within the party than as the top of the ticket.

I would love to see him head the RNC.

I don't think so.

Now, Obama could fall on his face but really, the economy has nowhere to go but up.

I think Barack Obama will be as unbeatable in 2012 as John F. Kennedy would have been in 1964.

If the Republican National Committee is smart (I wonder) and if Jindal is smart (I believe he is) then the GOP will save their up and coming shining star for 2016.

When someone like this man will step foward.

Who became president 16 years after this speech.

Do we have this man in the republican party today?

That will step forward and be a leader?

His Speech from Oct 27th, 1964 at a function for Barry Goldwater.

Just a few months after I was born.

We are in the same position today.

Because we elected Johnson in 1964.

He talks about the billions that Social Security was in debt.

He talks about needing to stop the expansion of Socialism.

It is not McCain, or any of the others we put forward over the past 20 years.

We need Ronald Reagan...

It took a democrat to leave his party to stand up...

People should stop waiting for a hero, whether Republican or Democrat.

He sure was...

John McCain and the republican party have passed us by.

I am republican and all John McCain needed to do was change the zero's, the name of the war.

But the republican party is no longer the same party as was the Democratic party was no longer the same when Ronald Reagan left that party.

We have the same problems, ideas of socialism and expansion of Govn't he warned about in 1964.

So for my entire life hundreds of men and woman have passed through the doors of the house and Senate.

To do nothing but play handout with my money and freedoms...

We need Ronald Reagan almost more then the generation that he stood up for.....

No one in our party today that you could name now or over the passed 20 years is a Ronald Reagan....

Uh ... no, he doesn't quite speak like a telemarketer.

He was born and raised in Baton Rouge.

Face it - Presidential contenders need a heavyweight resume; I don't see any Harry Trumans on the horizon and Sarah Palin is NO Harry Truman.

Like Clinton, Jindal went to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar after his undergrad (Brown) and in doing so, turned down admissions to Harvard Law and Medical AND Yale Law and Medical.

If the Republican Party has an immediate future (by that I mean the next 20 years or so) this guy is it.

I like what I see in him. McCain just seemed so out touch and old compared to Obama, not saying it was true, but we know how image is every thing these days.

The economic downturn, by all measures and analysis, is going to get worse before it gets better and most promise that it'll be long and deep. As Dick Morris said tonight, if O doesn't stop the bleeding within a year his Presidency will be in big trouble. If so, then 2012 may be a good time to run if you're Jindal and the Congressional elections could be a harbinger of success for conservatives. We'll see.

I agree completely. I think it was very smart of him to stay as far away from McCain as possible.
