Re: Cologne and Perfumes
As I mentioned on another thread that my husband of almost 49 yrs. purchases
me a large bottle of Cashmere Mist by Donna Karin each year for either Mother's
Day, my birthday or Christmas. Depends on when it runs out! It is a light mist that
smells so nice and always draws compliments from everyone from our pastor to my
14 grandsons, 3 sons, 3 sons in law. That's not counting my 3 daughters, 3 daughters-
in-laws, granddaughters and my 3 sisters. If it makes all these say, 'UMMMM, you
smell good", no wonder my darling husband loves to purchase it for me. He likes it too!
That investment makes me feel nice, and lets others enjoy it too.
I also like for my husband to smell nice. The adult children keep him in nice colognes
for his birthday, Father's Day or Christmas. Right now he has Tommy, Domain and
Burberry's of London. All gifts from the children's families. We are so blessed.
We are not high maintainance people. We love God, family and each other.
I mustn't forget to mention again on this thread that my pastor is our son
in law and calls me "Momma".
I answer to all kinds of names. Momma, Mom, Nancy, Gran,
Maw-Maw, Grandma. A little grandson who will be 3 next month calls me Princess
Maw-Maw. One grandson who is 14 now, loves to say, "Grandma,
remember when I used to call you "Bam-Maw". I love it all!! Thank You,
dear Lord,. for my loved ones, friends and family, and good neighbors.
Thank You for being my Father and calling me to be Your daughter. I love you!
Blessings,

Soooo.... tell me do you wear it ? If yes, why? If no, why not?
Perfumes and Colognes... should we wear them??

Re: Cologne and Perfumes
Problem is I am completely sensitive to many scents and have to watch what I wear, my wife wears, my kids, and especially have to be careful around others. I can smell someones perfume or cologne and my airway shut off on me in a heart beat. Thing is most non-christian types see that as my problem and still continue to wear things that i can not take and still come to work with them on and seem to always want to come watch me turn blue.

I know how he feels, I love to buy my wife perfume. Especially ones I can tolerate and that smell good on her. She has a totally different taste but thankfully in the past 20 years she has learned that I can not take what she likes to wear and no longer argues with me about what I buy her.

Re: Cologne and Perfumes
I have been around people who didn't like to used fragrances.
Lets just say I didn't stay around them for very long.

Not on your life. I would know instantly. Having a very sensitive sniffer can be both a blessing and a curse.
Not that it would really matter if she did as long as it was something that didn't cause me to go into respiratory distress.
Seriously people think I am out of my mind when I tell them that some colognes and perfumes can cause me problems, until they actually see me start gasping for air. Can't do nail polish remover either. That stuff can kill a horse. My face turns red my heart starts racing and then I stop being able to get oxygen. Some flowers do the same thing to me.

Good point Sister, Colognes and perfumes do not cover up the lack of good ole soap and water.
A lady asked me what fragrance I was wearing, I said, "Obsession for Men", she said, "It's working". My wife bought me some Burberry and Cool Water. LOL
