OH dear...well that seems to happen....but I am glad your 4 yr old is a mellow child, but the new baby will bring about some changes....its really hard on kids when a baby comes into the mix....

Sister, this is NOT true. I decided when I saw your thread yesterday that I would not say anything about the list you posted, and I won't. However, I will say that the precious men of God you indirectly malign with this thread have God as their witness and their judge.
As for this district that I love, I grew up in, have ministered in and worked in in different capacities; to imply that it legislates and micromanages those in its fellowship is false. So please, leave my district, my church family, alone, thank you.

I recall now ...someone said you had to consult the pastor if you and your husband was going to have another child ????????
also, Did you let of ALL rules and standards? if so, was it a result of these silly rules ?

One simple reminder for you, Thad, and something that you, as a pastor's kid should know: there's at least one whole other side to this story, and one that this forum probably won't ever hear, because of a simple thing called integrity, and that is the pastor's side of this story.

yes, indeed he is, this is one statement I will say is true. He is a precious, godly elder and a fine Christian.

One of the saddest things was sis...when I went back briefly last year....my senior pastors wife(my original pastor) came up to me hugged me and said oh sister soinso...I want so much to make it to heaven....it just killed me that she would doubt it after all her years in the church....
|
You know, I have known this dear sweet lady for a long time, hugged her neck lots, (just last week, in fact, at ladies' conference). She doesn't say "I want so much to make it to heaven" because she is afraid she won't make it!! She is a lot like other oldtimers I have been blessed to grow up around, and that is an expression of an ultimate goal of life, a statement of just how much eternity with Jesus means to her. And as these dear elders grow older, these statements become more frequent and more fervent, not because they are afraid they will lose out, but because they know they are that much closer to home!

Heavens to betsy! Imagine the nerve of that mean dictatorial pastor, realizing the need for today's generation to get a college education! How dare he?

Sister, I would be careful, for this simple reason:
Matthew 12
[33] Either make the tree good, and his fruit good; or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit.
[34] O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
[35] A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.
[36] But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
[37] For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

You are talking about a King in a different state than mine.

There was a King pastoring north of here, thus not the man of God you are thinking about.
