Rules...
1. No talking on the phone for more than 10 minutes
2. No friends outside of church, not even family (it was discouraged strongly)
3. No more than three families at a time in your home and not too often, if you had a gathering you are suppose to ask everyone in the church so no one gets offended.
4. No home bible studies without the ministry being there
5. You must attend all fellowships
6. So lunch dates, or shopping with friends even the ones in church...
7. No important decisions made without consulting the pastor...like, buying a car(new, used, how much you can spend)...same with a home or property.
8. You were not allowed to move, unless you had his OK.

Being we are older we did not attend parenting classes or marriage classes so we missed out on a lot of the rules...but over time we learned. This is not everything, but for the moment its enough...I might add more as I think of them.....

So there ya go Thad....

I have heard of rules like these. There was a church in the great NW that the pastor was very tough on the saints. I think King was the lastname not too sure. That guy left and a friend of mine is the pastor there now and it is much more mellow.

  3. Every sinner must repent of their sins.
  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

No tuperware or any other kind like that unless it was the pastors wife...
Yes few and far inbetween friends over
Yes we had to have premission to be gone
We were not allowed to miss church unless we had two broken legs...said in jest, but meant all the same
Hummm fishing I don't know about...

of course these rules DID NOT apply to the pastors family!!!!
Not to be contrary, but we were only supposed to have family Birthday parties...no one in the church unless they were family.

Are you sure about that? There is still a King there and it would not surprise me if it was one in the same.

We have birthday parties AT the church or at venues where folks from several churches can attend. We'd be dancing in the streets if it weren't for the traffic.

Another rule was that no one could go to college.

They have since changed this rule as their grandchildren are now grown and they needed a good education to get a decent job. ***VOMITS****

I thank God for my pastor. We have never had to endure this type of stuff.
