Most likely because most of us are Republicans. But I think this thread is more of a girl thing than anything else.
Totally. lol
I saw the white ball gown up close in a news coverage and thought it looked a bit like Kleenex ripped up and sewn on. Not my taste but I thought she looked good anyway.

Theresa, you keep saying "the dress", but this is not a one time observation about one dress. I'm just pointing out what seems to be a clear pattern pretty much after every major appearance. After more than one observation about more than one dress, one might begin to wonder whether it is the dress or the person wearing the dress...particularly when such scrutiny is not common with other women.
And yes...I don't think that Republican women are "gone after" like that here...nor would I expect them to be. As a matter of fact, I have seen the opposite to be true and that when others "go after" Republican women about their clothes, most of the posts here are in defense. I'm not sure what is so asinine about that.
There is nothing asinine about what you are commenting on.
The Obama's are staying true to their form and will continue to do things differently.
There will always be folks who will look at "different" in terms of good or bad instead of acknowledging the beauty inherent in "different".
Mrs. Obama will be herself, and as such, she will become a trendsetter.
That is what leaders do.

This portion of the article is what I am expecting from Obama.
Quote:
The Obama epic offers a glimmer of hope to some. On TheRoot.com, an online commentary outlet from the African-American perspective, writer Melanie Eversley posits that Obama’s victory will put beaucoup pep in the black man’s step. In “The Obama Swagger,” she wrote: “Maybe no group of Americans is more invested in the Obama phenomenon than black men who see in his success a transformation of their own public image.”
I'm afraid that people like the Rappers Young Jeezy and Jay-Z are wanting something else.
I'm hoping that Obama can end this generation for his people. It will be for their good. I'm sure that Oprah is not going to be helping the issue, so I will be watching to see if Obama can change her.
We are all watching, waiting and hoping - for change.

ok.
If rappers like Old Weezy and Gay-Z were to contribute $100,000 each year to predominately black, poor performing school systems, would those rappers be pushing the "black agenda?"
If yes, would they be wrong?
Would they really be racist?
