There may indeed by a non-intelligent, energy-like, component to "evil" but it is probably beyond our understanding (but interesting as I try to wrap my tiny brain around it since the question was asked).

If there is a non-intelligent , energy-like component to evil, then God had to create it! You are left to believe that God created evil.

I guess it comes down to if you believe God created evil or not!
