Re: ESPN's Stephen A. Smith: Vote GOP

i'm passing curious how anyone could justify voting for either entrenched party now, without feeling that they are voting for more corruption. if you vote, you are the enemy. voting harder is not going to solve any problems; it will demonstrably make them worse.

Also, who says "poor, white people" from the south vote GOP? Based on the Dem Party's love for government assistance and the GOP's desire to cut those benefits, I would bet most don't vote GOP.
What? So only rich people vote GOP? Look at the religious right in the south. I would be a lot of those are either poor or close to it.

Yes, the South is poor, (ignore the lower cost of living) and the North (such as Detroit) is awash in money.

What does that mean? I am waiting for him to answer my question. Everyone who has money votes GOP? Their money is the result of them voting GOP? Again, look at all the white poor in the south.

Why you avoiding answering a simple question? Ask as many questions as you like, I'll answer after you answer my original question.

So your answer is to sit by and do nothing?

I understand and agree that both parties are corrupt. The two current Budgets being crafted and considered by House Republicans only prove the GOP, like the Dems, don't care about balancing any budget or being fiscally responsible.

However, I would never vote for a Democrat because of their abortion, gay rights, anti-God and general, all-around anti-conservative policies.

You are singling out black people so I showed you its not a black thing. Voting wont do anything for you. You are going to be on welfare until YOU change your own standing in life.

i know it is the hard choice--apparently all the harder for many who claim to be called by His Name--but yes, i would leave the world, which translates into "sit and do nothing," or "if you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop digging." I cannot think of a clearer example of "divide you" than the 2 party system.

i realize that this sounds impossible to many people; it is best done in little steps. ignoring politics is just the first one. But people should do what they think is right--by all means, vote harder if that seems best to you.

I do agree that people will remain where they are until they make a conscious decision to make a change and do something to enact that change.

The question which Smith asked still stands regardless.

Because Dems take them for granted, and the GOP has given up even trying to get their vote: are black voters largely unrepresented in Congress?

And yes, I would argue a lot of the poor whites on welfare do not vote GOP. I know many poor, southern whites who unfortunately believe the mantra that Dems care more for the people and the GOP only cares for big businesses.
