Sounds like it.

Yeah I recognize those words as ol' Honest Abe himself. The great Emancipator.
It's amazing what history hides.

Re: Ron Paul Not Racist...
JD - you are repeating the same old Democratic party line. Are there individuals within the Republican party who are racist. Undoubtedly. And there are those in the Democratic party who are, as well.
Is our current AG, Eric Holder, racist?
Undoubtedly.
Every race and political party has enough idiots to go around.

Holder?
Racist?
Ha!
Aegsm,
Your response does NOTHING to address the issue of this thread.
Furhtermore, comparing the party of "diversity embodied" to the GOP and saying that both parties have racists is foolhardy.
The very identity and make up of the Democrat Party confronts racism and says it's not acceptable.
The GOP sees racism and is silent.
The American Muslim sees terrorism and is silent.

Interesting that he himself was a Republican....
Listen, I know that yesterday's Republican and Democrat Parties are different entities today.
The subject of this thread is my disgust with TODAY'S GOP REFUSAL to correct racism.

Re: Ron Paul Not Racist...
On the surface, what Santorum said is something ANYONE would agree with. But what was the context of this response?
Was this Republican attempting to play the race card?
Ridiculous!
Here I was hoping to support Santorum-- and he would have my support if he would simply admit he made a mistake.
To date, he has only said in response to questions about his rant, "I don't recall."

Re: Ron Paul Not Racist...
"At best, he (Ron Paul) didn't ask questions about an association that brought him a lot of money."
"Grappling With Ron Paul's Racist Newsletters"

Again, will ANYONE tell me why the GOP and like-mined individuals would coddle racist trash?
They never speak out against it when it is clear that the fungus is among us.
My opinion is that he had to know about it, he did nothing to confront it, to distance himself from it, to eradicate from among his network until he started getting public criticism over it-- so he is still responsible for it.
The letters bore his name or his organization's name the ENTIRE time they were printed-- but he's not culpable?
Puh-leeze!

Re: Ron Paul Not Racist...
The article I linked about those Ron Paul letters from so, so, so long ago is a very good artcle, if anyone would care to read it.
