Re: It's Friday Afternoon-What Are Your Weekend Pl
Have been thinking a long time about getting rid of my motorcycle and getting a convertible instead since my wife won't ride my bike with me.
My son called earlier this week and told me about a man in my town with a classic Mercedes SL convertible for sale so this weekend the guy is driving it here from his lake house where he stores it and we are going to see if it can tempt me to buy something when I should be paying off bills!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Not much this weekend-Farmer's Market, puttering around the house, ironing summer clothes and putting them up, Football watching. I am also going to my third grade teacher's 90th birthday party. Not only did she teach me, I taught with her many years later. The community is giving her a birthday party. That's my Saturday- Sunday, I will be going to church and chilling.

Well, let's see......
1) Get up early to make a giant size pan of apple crisp for a funeral dinner
2) Attend the funeral for my friend's mother at 11:00
3) Stay for the funeral dinner
4) Come home and pay bills - YUCK!
5) Go to the Bulldog Bowl. Our high school marching band is a "contest band". We travel all over to go to different contests in the fall. The goal is to score a 1 and be able to go to State Competition. We did that last weekend at the contest we attended. The Bulldog Bowl is a contest that we host here in our town. We have 14 Marching Bands coming to perform tomorrow, all hoping to score that elusive "1" rating. It's a huge deal and a really big fund-raiser
6) Sunday: church, cleaning house and maybe a little laundry.

As it turns out (after fussing with this and that for a bit), it was just an (ahem) operator error. Me, not her. I forgot about the lever that engages the blades. Thought the belt had fallen off, or something broke and lost the tension.
Then, I saw the lever.
"OK, mower's fixed!"
