According the "official" interpretion of Duet 22:5 Denim was a material made a designed for men that worked in harsh conditions. The material held well. Denim is definetly a material that "pertains to men"
But yet in our churches it's like a ladies uniform.
It's the inconsistency of our standards that irks me, on the issues of what a woman can wear.
I don't wear denim skirts, but I don't have a problem with others doing so. But I don't find material a standard issue either.

Welll just a couple verses wawy from Duet 22:5 is a verse tha deals with "materials". of course we just skip over that one, in fact we do as Paul instructed us and skip over 612 of the 613 laws of the Torah.
But for some reason 50 years some preacher thought he had license to aplly one of those laws to our women and make it a part of the gospel.

Well they do look better with white sox and tennis shoes that wearing a dress with sneakers.
So that scripture you quoted...
What is it going to be? Fashion or Bible, both or neither?
I'd really love to know what purpose you had in mind when you posted this thread? To tick me off? For some reason my fuse is short tonight and I actually had a great day. Guess I'm just not in the mood to be insulted.

I am not skipping over anything. I just don't have a problem with this as much as you apparently do. I don't force outward standards on people.

My "inspiration" for this was the times we, as a youth group, went downhill skiing and all the girls/young ladies wore jean skirts over their snow pants. It was not a witness... it just looked dumb.

Sorry, if I'd a known that i would have just continued to lurk.
I was just curious about this class originally, if this is a class that is offered at other conferences.
The break out session was SERIOSLY entitled, : "making denim skirts out blue jeans"
anybody else been to a class like this or some other "off the wall" class at a seminar?
