Re: Apostolic Friends Forum
The unfriendliness is because most of the people here (excluding myself) are a bunch of meanies.
Actually, many know each other in real life or have gotten to know one another through this forum. Most of what you see are friends talking to each other in ways that would appear to some as unfriendly. Its not that at all.
Then there are those who feel it necessary to be harsh when defending their view or doctrinal position. When people are passionate about an issue, the discussion gets, well, heated. Shouldn't be so, but thats the way it is. Renda (the mean one who calls herself Rgcraig) sums it up pretty good. Most here have a common ground in that they are connected in some way to the Apostolic faith. I come here for fellowship, for fun, and to just stay connected with people from all over the country (and Canada, and Brazil) who I have come to regard as brothers and sisters in the Lord. We don't always agree, and it seems we don't always get along- but its been my experience that these are some of the finest people you'll ever get to know (including myself).
But really... its just because they are a bunch of meanies (excluding myself, of course)

Re: Apostolic Friends Forum
I enjoy AFF. It is a good mixture of people and the ones that don't challenge you make you chuckle. There are only a few that might not mesh as closely but I believe they are seeking their past.
There are enough filled with love to make up for the few different ones.
The missionary Sis. Alvear is a peach.

Re: Apostolic Friends Forum
AFF is a lot like a Church.
At its core are a lot of good people that it'll be great to spend eternity with.
Behind the scenes are a few people that do most of the work.
There are a handful of people who were baptized in battery acid and never got over it.
A few looney tunes (You can't have a church without them).
And, the vagabonds who only show up enough and only stay long enough to find fault with everybody else.
I've belonged to every forum since FCF and have found them all very friendly.
Forums are like mirrors: the friendly find friends; the kind see kindness; and the rest tar the forum with whatever blackness is coating their own eyes.
This forum has some of the finest Christians you'll ever know behind its screen names, and a quite a few nuts. We all decide who we want to spend our time and energy on.

Very true Maple Leaf!!!
What you described is one of the reasons we chose the name - The Fellowship Hall!
Just like hanging out after church in the Fellowship Hall - you've got all kinds in attendance!

But there are so many other strands here that I am not sure we could rightly divide them all.

Many of us have been here since early 2007 and longer as we bridged over from the earlier site.
As in any forum share your thoughts.
I try and not to worry to much about others.
