I understand it is why I am able to submit to male authority and so thankful that for me it was the other way around. I do have difficulty with anyone being demanding, regardless of sex.

Still.. God continues to heal my problems with women in authority and it is something I'm working on.

I now have a female boss... who replaced a male who I have respect for. I am actually surprised at how well it is going. However, the few days were a little rough on me and I spent time praying about my situation.. trying to overcome issues that cause it in the first place.. it may seem insignificant to others... but if they only knew how I bristle at a domineering, head strong woman... they would understand. I have little tolerance for it. I know it is just a work situation...but I spend 8-10 hours a day here.

So, I understand what Mich has said... but totally agree with you. We have to conquer those trust issues.
Over the last 20 years or so I have done an informal survey of women I have worked with. Once I know them well enough and know they will not be offended I ask them if they would rather work for a man or a woman. In the last 20 years having ask this question dozens of times so far the answer has been 100% would rather work for men.

When I ask why I am told (keep in mind this is from women about working for other women) it is that women are much harder to work for. They are more demanding and if you cross them never forget.

So issues working for a woman may not be any problem on your part but just something natural.

I know a man who was always the one not afraid to break a rule here and there. But he did not have a spirit or attitude of rebellion in its negative context. This man went to Bible School and ended up as a career missionary to Eastern Europe at a time when you could be killed for being involved with preaching and teaching the Gospel..
  • He dared to cross borders with his car stuffed to the gill with Bibles.

  • He dared to meet with believers where the rules said you can't.

  • He dared to take the Gospel into areas where you could be imprisoned or shot for doing so.

  • He dared to be what God called Him to be and do what God called Him to do and in so doing he dared to break rules of man.

I personally like someone who has the backbone to not be a carbon copy of everyone else so being a rebel in its "positive" context is not necessarily a bad thing at all.

But to be rebellious, headstrong and stubborn as a result of self will and resisting the will of God is NOT a good thing!
Excellent description of a very real dichotomy.

Absolutely!!

But there are some men who act pretty hormonal too. I have a boss that I'm working for now who is quite like that. I appreciate his strengths but he tends to run a little hyper. When he gets like that I just want to say so bad, ..... "Oh..... just calm down will you?" I mean I and the other ladies stay a whole lot calmer and together than he does sometimes. LOL!

My dad or my husband are not like that. They're pretty cool, calm and collected most of the time. I can't stand it when a man gets all hyper and emotional. I need strength and coolness and respect that.

Why not just follow the Apostle Pauls preaching/teaching?

2Th 3:7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
2Th 3:8 Neither did we eat any man's bread for naught; but wrought with labor and travail night and day, that we might not be chargable to any of you:
2Th 3:9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an example unto you to follow us.

Heb 13:7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation.

This may have already been said, but in case it hasn't.....

There are pastors who have been elected or appointed outside the will of God.
Mostly appointed.

That would make too much sense and you know full well that going around making sense requires the use of one's brain - a brain that is supposed to be checked at the door of the church.
