David defended himself and knew how to do that too. So did Samson. They were skilled in the art of offence and defence.

CS's boys were being taught the same in the face of enemy oppression on the schoolground where it seems anarchy was ruling recess hour.

Right.

Paul didn't respond to things in the same manner as Jesus. When they let Paul down in a basket, why didn't they just stand and take what was to come? Jesus would have.

It's preposterous to say that all men just stand around and get whipped on.
It's not what he or we and anyone would do, but what would be the Chris-like thing to do.

We willnever get like him if we justify our Christ-unlikeness. That's my point.

Sometimes when we don't make the bar we naturally want to start lowering it.

Of course, Chancellor. When we receive His spirit we take on all of His attributes EXCEPT for omnipotence and omnipresence. We are never going to be just like Him.

Romans 12:18 " If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceable with all men."

Sometimes it just isn't possible.

Well, I probably wouldn't say "Give it your best shot."

Yes, it is right. No one was questioning his salvation.

One time when Jesus was in a place (Nazareth, I think) and the people wanted to stone Him, what did He do? He slipped out from within their midst.

So, where did I say that all men do "just stand around and get whipped on"? Where did I say that this is what they do?

Are you saying JESUS was being preposterous when He said to turn the other cheek?

LOL!

Well, Coonskinner wasn't teaching them that particular skill.

I wouldn't say we are never going to be like Him. See 1 John 3:2-3.
