In late AD 49/early AD 50, there was a council in Jerusalem where the requirements of the Old Testament law were discussed. It was decided by the leaders of th early church how much of the OT law would be required under this new covenant. A letter was issued which covered these requirements. It is found in Acts 15:22-29.

None Timmy. Yep, you can cuss, steal, lie, cheat, blasphemy...sin all day and all night long without any thought about repentance...oh wait....Hmmm the bible does say in the NT we have to repent. I wonder what we are supposed to repent of?
Maybe SOME THINGS...in the law...are still sins today. I'll venture to guess that if the NT mentions it being wrong (and it was wrong in the OT), then it's still wrong
just so long as you baptize in the titles.

I think Deut. 22:5 has very much to do with the absolute necessity of gender distinction and the natural way that is expressed in the way that a woman acts and dresses - not just women but men as well.
God hates women acting like or desiring to be a man -- in other words to act masculine instead of feminine and likewise men being effeminate.
As a kid I was able to read that verse and understand what it was saying. It's not so much about wearing a specific garment unless a woman or man is wearing that garment to pass himself off as the opposite sex -- opposite to what God made him or her.
The scripture might also allude to the idea of homosexual behavior as an abomination but I don't think that's the main idea of what is being expressed there.

How about men who are naturally effeminate and women who are naturally masculine? I know of at least one family where all the men were naturally effeminate. None of them were gay either. Have you ever met a straight woman that was naturally masculine? Were they born abominations?

Nope - I don't believe so.
I'm not sure what you mean by "naturally" effeminate. Do you think children are born this way? Or do you think perhaps they've picked up on the mannerisms of the mom or dad ..... a boy walks like his mom ....... or a girl copies her dad's mannerisms.
I think that in the case of a boy acting effeminate there might be some kind of something going on where the dad isn't strongly masculine acting so the child doesn't have the "masculine" role as we normally think of it to pattern himself after.
I don't think a boy is born naturally effeminate or a girl born naturally masculine, but a lot of how they act is learned behavior by watching, copying and patterning themselves after those who they're with on a daily basis - usually that's their mom or dad.

Like I said, I know of at least one family where all the men are effeminate in their actions. I am talking about all of them. The dad, brothers, uncles, etc. I had the chance to get to know one of them and he was telling me the story of his family. His dad acted effeminate, along with all his uncles and grandfather. None of them were gay. They were just very effeminate in their actions. I have also known women who were very masculine in behaviour but weren't lesbian.

I'm not doubting what you say Rico. I'm just questioning the WHY of the behavior and suggesting it's because of their environment and role modeling more than being "born that way".
And that it's a different thing than what Deut. 22:5 is about.

If it were something they were learning they could just as easily unlearn it. This fella was in his 50s and had dealt with being an effeminate straight man all his life. Don't you think he, his dad, his grandfather, and all his uncles thought of changing their behaviour if they could?
