Re: Health, Wellness, and Nutrition Thread
Vegans live hungry.
They are starving.
Eat grass fed beef in that way you get all the vegetables you need.
Chicharrones is also very very good for you. It is like super bacon.
Chicharrones must be fried in animal fats, or just the grease it creates all by its self.
STOP EATING GLUTEN IT IS THE THING THAT KILLS YOU
STOP EATING SUGAR

Re: Health, Wellness, and Nutrition Thread
i eat a fair amount of both gluten and sugar, and never had a problem. I'm pretty active though, and i think that is a factor for those. The wisdom about gluten intolerance seems to be shifting to the poisons sprayed on the wheat now--i guess most any wheat that isn't organic is desiccated with roundup before harvest.

Yep, gluten is ok.
It is the chemicals that are sprayed on the plants that is the real culprit.
There are several new studies that are pointing to this.
Roundup is of the devil...

Puritan's Pride has O3 in the correct form (rE), and coated, for best absorption, for pretty cheap. But they also have the wrong form, and uncoated, so...item #16885. If you buy five at a time it is quite reasonable, less than $10 for 120 @ 1200mg--but don't get sucked in by the $2 O3, as you get what you pay for, you'll be burping it all day, poor absorption, wrong form, etc http://www.puritan.com/puritans-prid...200-mg-016885?
and i try to keep it to one a day, with eggs in the AM. If i take one after about 2pm, i'm up all night, i notice. Omega 3 is quite "speedy," as you may know. Many people quit it after getting heart palpitations, which is common at first, but harmless. Just kind of scary! If you take one with a full breakfast tho, that doesn't happen. I can take one on an empty stomach with morning coffee now--but don't try that at first!
i also eat flaxseeded bread, and walnuts, and prolly too much canned fish, but i prefer that to over-supplementing
i'm a protein freak, there are prolly more vegan ways to get O3--i love red meat, but keep it to about once or twice a week (and never eat the fat). That is usually elk, these days, just because elk are more likely to be on grass than beef. Once or twice a month i get a chicken from an organic place for 2-3 hours of work, that are raised on grass; but they retail for like $30+ each! Yikes.
And i don't use a lot of milk, but it is raw goat's milk. I prefer goat because it tastes the same, done right, and goats eat a lot of green stuff that cows won't, so they are easier to pasture. Raw cow milk is cheaper, but like the eggs, it's hard to find milking cows on green grass!
Cruciferous veggies are also a decent source, and i generally get some every day--although they have all gotten quite expensive suddenly.

My husband and I tried to take O3 years ago and had that nasty heartburn issue with the ones we bought. I'll take your advice and try the ones they mentioned. Thanks for the info Shaz, appreciated
My chickens are free range on organic feed, and I usually feed them a head of lettuce/cabbage or other raw veggies at least once a day. I guess they're probably pretty spoiled I am also selling the extra eggs, which is a bit of little extra income for me.
I don't drink much milk, it doesn't agree with me. The rest of my family does however, but we don't have a local source for raw milk, so for now I just buy milk at the local store.
We got a half side of a cow that was grass fed last year, and that has been nice to have in the freezer. We also have lots of venison, and chicken that I purchase in bulk from Zaycon foods.
We rarely eat pork, sometimes bacon for breakfast, but other than that, no pork.
We get our butter from the Amish, and it is awesome. I use it for cooking just about everything that needs a fat.
I drink a green smoothie every morning for breakfast. I have been mostly doing kale with a variety of fruits, plus flaxseed, chia seeds, and almonds. However, I have just bought some winter produce, and I plan on cooking them gently, pureeing them, and freezing in cubes to put in my smoothie to try to get extra veggies in my day. I use a NutriBullet, and it has been worth every penny I spent on it.
That's about all I can think of for our healthy choices in daily living.

We buy our wheat straight from Wheat Montana Farms in the wheat berries. I have a flour mill which I use to grind the wheat berries into fresh flour. It makes amazing bread. I don't know if Montana Wheat uses roundup on their wheat, but I don't think they do. It would be nice if the real culprit for problems with wheat/gluten is really the roundup, and if you could source your wheat completely organic without chemicals. I need to look into that, unless someone already knows.

Gluten is not good, because it is a FrankenGluten made in a laboratory. All sugar is good for is feeding Cancer.

Monsanto just doesn't spray the crops they actually created signature seeds which are GMO.
