Just to be clear in intent, I placed quotation marks around my statement. It's not my statement, it is the statement that some who find Carson's stance palatable. The quote would be followed up with another statement,
"You know, he's right. I don't want a Muslim in the White House. We do need to talk about this. Man Ben, I sure am glad you said it. When I say things like that, it makes me look like I'm some kind of racist or something. I mean, I know I'm not. I mean, you know me-- do you think I'm a racist?"
Then, friendly Ben, always so friendly, reassures him of his acceptance.
"No buddy, we're friends! I understand where you're coming from. I don't think you're racist at all."
Then said guy reassures Ben of his acceptance as being a different type of black person.
"You know what Ben, I always knew you were different from other black people. Man, you're a good guy!"
Both of their, "We're better than them," egos are stroked and they live happilly ever after in their ignorance.
