An Applause for a Too Often Forgotten Word...
I want to say I appreciate the Word "Intimacy"
I appreciate it's value in my life and I appreciate my Beautiful Lovely Wife of 16 Years +..
I was reading a article earlier on MSNBC concerning casual sex and singles. What a mess they have made of thier lives. NO intimacy or care and they miss what they don't have. They would all like to have caring and loving relationships but ruin their chances by the lifestyle they begin with and most wind up very lonely, depressed and sad.
Intimacy isn't born overnight folks. You can't expect it to just happen. When I look at the way I used to view love it really was only skin deep. But after many happy days, joyful days, sad days and painful days all you have left at times is the intimacy between a husband & wife who look at each other and completely understand where they are at. They know that God is in control and everything else can fall by the wayside as long as they have each other.
Initmacy is WORK.. Plain and simple but rewards far outlast the time it takes to make it happen. Many times shared thoughts and laughs will overcome many arguements and the past. Many times shared tears and sadness coming together in a simple hug of forgiveness. Many times couples intwined together sharing what God has given them to give to each other in the sacntuary of married bliss. So many of these times will be forgotten and yet each of them are so equally important in supporting what is intimate between a husband and wife. So many times the memory of them brings strength and comfort in the times of storm and trouble.
I appreciate the fact that God has given me someone that I can share and be intimate with. I can bear and hold at the same time. I can give and take and not with a selfish spirit. And in all things become intimate with the creature created from what protects and gaurds my heart. A part of myself taken by God to create someone who has become one with me in heart and spirit.
Take some time today and turn the computer off and spend some intimate time with God and the one you love because Intimacy is important to you.
Appreciate it.
Just some thoughts...
