Sorry, but from here on the border, the threat is the illegals coming across. A new report shows the fact that even 50 miles within the US, the Mexican cartels have control of the area. Gangs and criminals pour across the border and wreak havoc in our communities.
No, I understand the threat from the government, but I also see the very real threat from illegal immigration and the idiocy of trying to change our laws to appease a voting bloc.
They want to work here, then they need to do it legally. Every nation in the world has that requirement. There is not on nation on planet earth as stupid as the US, just allowing lawbreakers to pour across the borders and binding the hands of our Border Patrol by not allowing them to stop, detain and deport everyone trying to cross the border.

Re: Immigration: A Libertarian Solution
Politicians are going to turn the US into a third-world country. Disease. Low-paying jobs. Overcrowded schools. Bloated welfare. Socialism.
The majority of these people vote Democrat and embrace socialism.
Illegal immigration is KILLING the economy. Opening the borders will NOT help the economy.

Exactly and last question:
If Mexico strictly enforces their immigration laws, why can't the United States of American enforce their immigration laws?

Re: Immigration: A Libertarian Solution
The real question is, why is the government actively persecuting companies that try to do the right thing? I just heard a story on the radio earlier, and it made my blood boil.
Nebraska Beef was recently fined $200,000 and forced to change their hiring policies, because they required all non-citizens to provide proof of their current immigration status. They weren't being racist about it, just requiring proof of citizenship. The government fined them and treated them like criminals, for doing what every company in America *should* be doing.

The U.S. Justice Department said Monday that Nebraska Beef had agreed to pay $200,000 as part of the settlement, but the company denied any wrongdoing.
Authorities say the beef producer was requiring employees who aren't citizens to provide proof of their immigration status. Workers who are citizens didn't face the same requirements.
Regulators will monitor the company for two years and workers who lost wages will be compensated.
|
Note the part in bold. What sense does it make to request immigration status FOR CITIZENS? I hope they appeal this decision, but it sounds like they've just caved in.
Our brave DOJ, who will fine a company for doing the right thing, but won't investigate Hillary Clinton's blatant mishandling of government secrets.

You obviously haven't gotten the memo. Here it is, I saved a copy:

But he-haw. Dis is Murica.

Why should they be made citizens? Why not let them stay and work but never gain citizenship? Why do you want socialists and statists to have more voters? These people are not loyal to America. Rather they remain loyal to the country they came from.
And BTW the government has been empowered for decades to stop them or deport them, they simply have not done it.

Re: Immigration: A Libertarian Solution
I still believe that the Libertarian answer is the most realistic. Building walls and increasing the policing businesses isn't something I'm comfortable with.

Who said we need to "increase the policing businesses?"
We just need to enforce the existing laws! Unfortunately, as Jito463 pointed out, the government is more interested in protecting illegals than prosecuting or deporting them. The stupid administration is more interested in prosecuting good businesses and law enforcement who do their jobs, than prosecuting illegals.
It's a crime for illegals to work here. It's a crime to illegally cross the border.
No need to add more laws or powers. Just enforce the one's we have. Prosecute illegals, instead of coddling them.
The US is already in debt. Giving these illegals visa's will do nothing but add to it. It won't help the economy. In fact, it will cause the economy to get even worse than it currently is.
I'll ask again: What's your solution when the illegals, to whom you want to give a temporary visa, refuse to leave when that visa expires?
