Re: Veil of flesh
2Co 4:3-6 KJV But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: (4) In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. (5) For we preach not ourselves, but Christ Jesus the Lord; and ourselves your servants for Jesus' sake. (6) For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
All of this is stated after the 3rd chapter that says the veil is removed when our hearts turn to Christ.
The devil blinded the woman's MIND, with the KNOWLEDGE (a mind-thing) of good and evil.
We need knowledge of the glory of God!
Eph 1:17-19 KJV That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, (19) And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
HIS POWER is stressed as opposed to OUR power in making ourselves righteous.
And it's a REVELATION -- unveiling -- in knowledge of HIM -- TREE OF LIFE is the knowledge of CHRIST, while the forbidden tree is knowledge of good and evil.

Re: Veil of flesh
One knowledge blinds and another knowledge enlightens! That's the difference between grace and law.

Praise God! Galatians 5:1 "Stand fast therefore in the LIBERTY wherewith Christ has made us free and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage" ... I believe the yoke of bondage is just like the veil we are speaking of. There is a great freedom in Christ that we will not ever experience as long as we seek to put on any yoke other than the yoke of Christ.

Yes. That's why we read these statements together in the same context:
2 Corinthians 3:15-17 But even unto this day, when Moses is read, the vail is upon their heart. (16) Nevertheless when it shall turn to the Lord, the vail shall be taken away. (17) Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
The veil covers the heart so the ministration of Spirit (ink in the pens that are the ministers, in the hand of the author of salvation, Jesus) cannot write in the fleshly tables of our heart. So, when the heart turns to Jesus and the sword of the word of grace cuts the veil away, the Spirit can then write in the heart, and where the Spirit is there is LIBERTY FROM THE VEIL!

Re: Veil of flesh
Simply... We can have true liberty in Christ when we are set free from the veiling bondage of our human will and understanding.

That's exactly it. And the key point that makes our thinking so wrong is our works mentality we gained from the forbidden fruit.

Re: Veil of flesh
The veil in the temple ripped when He died, and the veil on our hearts rips open when we believe we died with Him. That doctrine demands we lose any hopes of salvation by works. It gets error out of us from the get-go!

Re: Veil of flesh
And it was the "works mentality" that Jesus came against the Pharisees for. They were trying to please God with outward works, while their heart was a graveyard.

Re: Veil of flesh
This is the reason repentance and baptism go together. One requires the other. Repentance means TURN and baptism is circucmision of the heart. So, we turn to God like Moses and John did (repentance), and then the sword cuts away the veil (baptism, because baptism puts us into the death of Jesus and that's where the veil ripped).

Right. And these generation of vipers (from the serpent in the Garden) were still pushing everyone towards the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil and Jesus, the last man Adam did what the first should have done.... ate of and gave to others the LIFE!
