I would, by nature, love facebook. I love catching up with people and sharing news. However, my husband and I are not on facebook. My kids are, but rarely. My gut has told me to avoid FB, although I have been tempted, for sure.  And I would not feel I was going to hell if I signed up, just that I better be ready for the lack of privacy, mostly by the intrusive gubment.

FB is like talking really loud in a restaurant. LOL! I think what turns me off is when I hear people saying, "Yes, I read that on FB" or "Did you see their post on FB?", in way of criticism.
I think there are good experiences, like you said, about catching up with people, but I'm like you, I felt someone was going to go wrong with it, and it appears it is very intrusive.
On another note, which has nothing to do with this subject other than the dysfunction of our government, this is a great resignation letter by a guy who was in charge of monitoring misconduct in the biomedical research field. Thought you would like to read it, ILG. It's about a quarter way down the page.
