Re: The "Affordable" Care Act
Even if it is true, I doubt it will change the minds of many Obamabots. They wil look at it as "justice" that these people are having their assets seized.

Yes, and even those who are in religions that don't believe in medical procedures will be forced to pay for others who do.

Re: The "Affordable" Care Act
I went online yesterday to check it out and see what the premiums would be if I didn't have insurance through my work. Unfortunately, they require a TON of personal and health info before you can see any kind of cost structure.
I agree with the others who want verification on this; however, this is entirely believable for two reasons: pre-existing condition and IRS.

|
Is anyone surprised? This is a pre-existing condition...of course they're going to have to pay a lot and have a high deductible. If you really believed obummer and his goons, sorry. You're going to be disappointed and shocked. These guys lie all the time, yet people really thought obummercare was going to be affordable?

Why the surprise here? I'm serious. This person chose to "opt-out" of obummercare. Because of that choice, the system said, "Ok, you're opting-out and we don't know you have other insurance; according to the law you're required to have something or you're fined. Here's a reminder of what your fine will be, based on the info you've given. IE You should get insured." Why would people (Lafon) question that the system would do this? It's doing what it's supposed to do! You opt-out, you get fined. Period. End of story.

You can agree to give your bank information so that they can easy "Automatically withdraw" your "penalties" weekly, bi-weekly or monthly!

Again, this should be no surprise to people who actually read up on obummercare and didn't just drink the obummer Kool-Aid. The IRS is in charge of collecting the fines. Has anyone failed to pay a tax bill, student loan, or other federal loan or penalty? I have. I refused to pay on a federal student loan. You know what happened? The IRS took my federal tax returns as payment for the loan. I thought, that's fine with me, and still refused to pay. They requested I send them my bank account info for monthly payments and offered a discount on the rate if I did that. No, thank you. After that, I got a call from a stern representative stating that if I did not start paying the minimum amount required, they would begin to garnish my wages.
Regarding drivers licenses, this will be the IRS working through the state. Look it up, there have been people who have owed taxes, who have had their licenses suspended. Because licenses are state-issued, any suspension would come through the state.
The federal lien on a home is not new with obummercare.
IRS WEBSITE
Quote:
If you are unable to pay anything because of a current financial hardship, we may temporarily suspend certain collection action, such as issuing a levy (explained below), until your financial condition improves. The IRS may, however, file a Notice of Federal Tax Lien (explained below) while your account is suspended.
|
Quote:
The federal tax lien is a legal claim to your property, including property that you acquire after the lien arises. The federal tax lien arises automatically when you fail to pay in full the taxes you owe within ten days after we send our first notice of taxes owed and demand for payment, and we make an assessment of the tax. The government also may file a Notice of Federal Tax Lien in the public records. The Notice of Federal Tax Lien publicly notifies your creditors that the IRS has a claim against all your property, including property acquired by you after the Notice of Federal Tax Lien is filed. The filing of a Notice of Federal Tax Lien may appear on your credit report and may harm your credit rating. Once a lien arises, the IRS generally cannot release the lien until the taxes, penalties, interest, and recording fees are paid in full or until the IRS may no longer legally collect the tax.
|
Don't be surprised, people. This is what happens when you put the IRS in charge of collections and you don't pay your bill!

Another part of the ACA that is horrible are the Navigators. The rules for the Navigators put a top priority on hiring people who "represent" racial, ethnic and cultural demographics of each neighborhood. So, instead of recruiting people who have knowledge of insurance or medicine, they are in essence recruiting community organizers.
"Recruit, support and promote a staff that is representative of the demographic characteristics including primary language spoken." Pages 59-60
Texas is insisting on background checks for these people. But, not all states are dong that, including California.
The money flowing through Obamacare to these community organizations is $100 million per year - handed out by the CDC for "community transformation grants". Some of them are funded primarily by race and ethnicity - the recipients have to be where the minorities make up the majority of the population. There is A LOT in the ACA that gives strong preference to minorities over the rest of Americans.
It is just a crazy, convoluted mess.

Re: The "Affordable" Care Act
Maybe when they start stealing people's homes it will be enough to push Americans over the edge and lead to forcfully taking DC back if necessary.

Probably the people will say "But they haven't taken MY house, because I am a good person. Only bad people get their houses taken away." That's the culture already.

Re: The "Affordable" Care Act
I've been trying to find more information on the penalties claimed in this FB post. The $4,037 seemed high to me, even though most of what was posted was believable.
Based on what I've read, the claim that this person was fined $4,037 is false.
Quote:
The fee in 2014 is 1% of your yearly income or $95 per person for the year, whichever is higher. The fee increases every year. In 2016 it is 2.5% of income or $695 per person, whichever is higher.
In 2014 the fee for uninsured children is $47.50 per child. The most a family would have to pay in 2014 is $285.

I went to the IRS site and it sent me to Healthcare.gov for this information.
As stated previously, people have had their drivers licenses suspended for unpaid taxes; and there is specific IRS info stating they can put a lien on your home for unpaid taxes.

So, what is it going to be in 2018?

Good question...I don't know.
The healthcare.gov website only says
Quote:

|
Is there a limit, or does it just increase every year to infinity?

Re: The "Affordable" Care Act
This story just hit Drudge....linked to InfoWars no less. While I detest InfoWars and hate using it as a source, there's a screenshot of the facebook exchange.
"SOURCE" LINK
Interestingly, IW claims "Section 1501(g)(2) of the Affordable Care Act also states that the IRS cannot 'file notice of lien with respect to any property of a taxpayer by reason of any failure to pay the penalty imposed by this section.'”
I couldn't find this in the ACA, though it's very difficult to read.
