Indeed. The "money" we borrow isn't money that moved from one account to another. They just create a ledger entry of the "money" out of nowhere. But... if you fail to pay back that imaginary ledger entry that was entered out of thin air they will sure 'nuff take your very real house... or your car etc.

Yes, I don't think most people understand this. It's pretty sickening and it's what our economy is built upon which is why they get so concerned about deflation when bubbles bust.
