Its really rather brilliant. Think about it. Media and some politicians and others like Jackson and Sharpton use racism as talking points for cause that has all but died out. I think a better statement would be to say that those who make FALSE accusations of racism are the ones who are making it harder to address real racism.

Rampant racism across America... I don't know about that but I know my little area isn't the most diverse and is a lil backward but racism definetley exists here. I couldn't count how many times in my life I've heard the "n!@@$*" word used...

Why is it that the right never wants to admit racism exists? Ever? I don't care who did what or what happened, they won't admit it exists. The most they will do is admit that it was justified because black people are just as racist. Why is that?

I just posted a piece yesterday by Ann Coulter outlining extreme racism. That isn't denying it exists. Far from it. Who is denying that racism exists? I would agree that it isn't as pervasive or extreme as it was 50+ years ago, but obviously it does still exist. When we lived in Louisiana, I was SHOCKED by the prevalent racism, both in and out of the church. I will say that it is more common in certain parts of the country and in certain communities. Growing up in the Midwest, I had never encountered racism the way I encountered it in the deep South. Some may think racism doesn't exist because they haven't personally encountered it. That's their paradigm speaking; it doesn't mean they're purposely denying a reality--it isn't their reality.

Also, I don't think anyone thinks that "reverse racism" justifies white racism. However, it can be annoying to not have it acknowledged. I have personally encountered aggressive behavior toward white people (in one particular case, ME) on the part of black people. I chalked it up to ignorance and did not engage--but it's galling to have that reality ignored or whitewashed by the MSM or public figures.

I can agree with most of that. Here's the thing though, most anytime the charge of racism is brought up, the right immediately reacts by denying or trying to deny that whatever had nothing to do with racism. That's what gives so many the impression that they don't want to admit racism exists.

But we been talking about it for 50 years , and yet for some reason , according to some , its still running rampant. So what has talking done ?

I don't know what the answer is. But yes, I get tired of the race card being thrown up everytime the wind blows the wrong way. And the reverse racism gets old too. I get sick of hearing what whites do to blacks when blacks are doing worse to each other.

Oh yeah, did I mention I was sick of reverse racism ?

I think racism in particular is largely kept alive by word of mouth...
it is kind of like an avenue for that particular sin, not the only one.
