Heck ya--
You just ask that thought if Christ came in the flesh as our Savior. You will be querying a spirit, and an evil spirit can't agree with you that Jesus Christ is Lord.
We just recently had a thread on this, but I am useless at thread search here--anyway, you may bible-engine search "test spirit" for more. It taught me discernment, and for me it morphed into...well, I don't have to query spirits anymore, the bad ones just kind of go away. Still use discernment, but it has morphed, it's usually instant now. Hmm.
Ok, and you might normally expect it to take a day or so for an answer.
You adding a couple of things to that scripture. It just says that a spirit that confesses that "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh" is from God. Nothing about being Lord, or savior.

Good point. I have actually had an evil spirit admit that Christ was Lord, I'm pretty sure--so weird how it came across, I could hear the...lack of conviction? in the voice in my head, lol. So, BAM, stick with the literal word here until you have a grasp of this better. My meaning was that when I'm in doubt about a spirit, I make sure that it is joyful in its agreement here.
Also, see that the translation you provided is great, but it is just that, a translation, and other translations may provide a fuller meaning.

Don't...ever put it like that again

The thing is, this addresses the title of the thread in the way that "God's thoughts are not your thoughts" does not. God has provided a way whereby you may test a thought, which comes to us all as a "voice in your head."
"God's thoughts are not your thoughts," while certainly true, just has no application here, that I can see? "God's sense is better than man's sense" is also true, and equally inapplicable to "How do I tell if this thought agrees with God?"
Our thoughts are to line up with God's thoughts, agree in Spirit, and will never be God's thoughts, true enough, but this amounts to a sermon, and not an answer.

Oh, so you have to discern the "spirit's" level of conviction, too. Apparently, a spirit can lie to you, but you can tell when it does. I see.

As I remember it (this was a couple years ago, now), that was like the last time I ever felt the need to test a spirit in this...codified? manner, and a diff form of..."discernment," is the best way I can put it, has evolved.
I wouldn't characterize that this spirit was able to lie, exactly, but it was strong--it was able to grudgingly admit that Christ was Lord, but I could tell it was not really agreeing. And let me tell you, it is kind of spooky, even remembering it, as you assume that what goes on in your mind is just different "sides" of you, in a sense, more or less all coming from your mind, and this will show you that this is not true.
