Your thoughts vs. God's thoughts
How to know the difference between the two?

Re: Your thoughts vs. God's thoughts
First I see if it lines up with what I know about the bible, then I ask myself, "Is this something that's going to help the quality of my life? Is this something that's going to help others? Does this lift up the name of Jesus?" I also use the charity chapter in 1 Corinthians before I make any decisions about what I think may be God speaking to me.

We're all in trouble!!! No wonder we have such a hard time figuring out what to do (see below)!
Isaiah 55:8-9 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

I get that. But if he speaks internally?

Re: Your thoughts vs. God's thoughts
Heck ya--
You just ask that thought if Christ came in the flesh as our Savior. You will be querying a spirit, and an evil spirit can't agree with you that Jesus Christ is Lord.
We just recently had a thread on this, but I am useless at thread search here--anyway, you may bible-engine search "test spirit" for more. It taught me discernment, and for me it morphed into...well, I don't have to query spirits anymore, the bad ones just kind of go away. Still use discernment, but it has morphed, it's usually instant now. Hmm.

Ok, and you might normally expect it to take a day or so for an answer.

Re: Your thoughts vs. God's thoughts
I think NotforSale has answered your question. His thoughts are not our thoughts even internally.

Re: Your thoughts vs. God's thoughts
The things which glorify God are of God, the things which glorify self or mankind are of the flesh and are earthly, not to say that the things of the flesh are all bad in doing good, but the spirit leads in all things to bring glory to the kingdom of our Lord Jesus.
That is why the Bible says in all that you do, do it unto the Lord.

Ok, but God has provided an answer to your question; you might go with that.
