I don't like repentance without sin, and Scripture will back me up, I'm pretty sure.
Actually, my repentance consists of tell God how sorry I am for being human and less then perfect (yes, and for specific things or thoughts I may have had that I am acutely aware of).

Re: How often....

When you go into prayer with the premise that you have indeed fallen short of perfection, then confession and repentance is easy.

When you go into prayer resisting your need of confession and repentance it's much harder (but your need of Him is actually greater).

Yes humility is key... Not so much that repentance gives way to humility, but humility helps facilitate the process of repentance and will help develope a repentant spirit - quick to acknowledge our constant need of Him!

Re: How often....

Do I repent and ask God for forgiveness every single day? No. I believe I should though, I am sorry that I don't and repent of that! He is all that is good, true, righteous and Holy in my life... I am generally something far less.

Not at all. I AM sorry for being less than perfect, and wonder about those who think they are.

Every day there is something for me to repent of, to ask for mercy for-- I need Jesus Christ.

There's no one without sin, not one!

Well, actually Catholics would tell you the pope is without sin.....
