Weakness or a man who stands by his word?

If they refused to renegotiate then that means someone tried to negotiate and they refused.

That isn't standing by ones word... that is failing to make a change.

But... on Obama's word we can only say that his "word" was that he would have them out in 16 months. His "word" wasn't that he would have them out around re-election time.

This has nothing to do with Barwreck, this agreement was signed by Bush in May 2008 that all would be out by 12 31 2011,So credit Bush.

He walked into a terrible financial hurricane, but it's still raining. Who better to take the blame than the current President?
JD - most of the good decisions that he has made internationally can be attributed to following the Bush policies, fairly closely.
I find it fairly ironic that almost all of the critics of the Bush policy in Iraq have been praising the BHO policy in Libya.
The one part of foreign policy that he has not followed has been the support of Israel and I do find this disturbing.
I also firmly believe the Arab Spring will turn into the Islamic Winter.

Your last sentence echoes my own concerns. Time will tell.

Re: US withdrawing all military from Iraq

Obama by saying they will be all out by the end of the year may be a error.
Why would he putt his head on the chop block?
Read your history people, how many times in wars have we said the boys will all be home for Christmas?
Operation market garden, WW2. Montegomery attacked the Germans in Holland and failed. The boys were not home by Christmas like he promised.
The Korean War, Truman invaded the North and the Chinese intervened over Thanksgiving. The war lasted many more years.

I will wait and see.

Whether it's an attempt to win votes or not, just bring our troops home.

For once I'd like to see him do something right, bringing them home would be the right thing to do.
