If you don't mind the culture and would consider adapting, all the more reason to be a part of us.

I haven't agreed 100% with Texas politics, but would be more willing to side with my own as opposed to the alternative (in DC, but that's for another thread).

Hopefully, many people are already praying. IMO, Perry calling for prayer on a certain day further reflects the desires of many Texans, and I would hope the same for people in other states as well...
I believe Gov. Perry's response is the direct result of Christians praying for our leaders, as the Bible instructs us to do.

Quote:
"Given the trials that beset our nation and world, from the global economic downturn to natural disasters, the lingering danger of terrorism and continued debasement of our culture, I believe it is time to convene the leaders from each of our United States in a day of prayer and fasting, like that described in the book of Joel," Gov. Perry said. "I urge all Americans of faith to pray on that day for the healing of our country, the rebuilding of our communities and the restoration of enduring values as our guiding force."

I'd adapt so fast I'd have a Texas drawl by the end of the first day!

It must have been an accident of birth I don't live there! I love hot dry weather, wide open spaces and best of all...cowboys...just ask PO!

I love conservative politics, and a governor that declares a day of prayer and fasting. I may be in the minority but....I MISS DUBYA and I'm not ashamed to say it!

God bless Texas!

Oh the media is already jumping on him for mixing "church and state". The gays are really upset about it.

Naturally.

Of course there's no such thing as mixing church and state and it's not illegal for governors and presidents to call for a day of prayer.
But, what do they care about facts.

Of course, we know why they're stirred to anger.

Yep, and the Bible says we'd be hated for His name's sake. His name, among many things, is love. Unfortunately, those who are in an uproar over this hate the kind of love He has for them because the veil has been pulled over their eyes. Still, we keep going and praying for God to break the deception and try to put our best witness forward without frontlining our opinions. But, that's just my thoughts.

Perry teaming with AFA for a prayer event doesn't mean he's going to preach Heaven or Hell to the people. Again, it's a day of prayer and fasting. And the dissenters are going to draft up any possible way to stop it from happening...
