Do a raised bed! Then you can use your own recipe for dirt and things should grow better.

Re: Are You Planting A Food Garden?
we will have a small one. tomatoes and squash etc.
its good for the boys to know where food comes from.
When I was growing up the "garden" was about 5 acres. it fed 5 families and we WORKED.
but we didnt go to the grocery store and buy veggies....
and we butchered our own meat too....
sigh... those were the good old days. my boys have no clue...

I knew we would save money when we butchered our animals but I had no idea how much difference it would make.

I had very bad soil once where we lived. I tried a raised bed and gave up. Bleah. Now, I have good soil!

We just buy bullets and hunting licenses! LOL! (I don't hunt, but my husband does.)

if you are talking about taste etc... its like walking into paradise isnt it?
we get our beef from Mrs. Ferds dad. he raises limousin cattle and we have them butchered/processed locally back home.
it is 10 times better than food lot beef.

I should have also stated that I am entirely surrounded by concrete, and there is no place in my apartment to make things grow properly. That is why I said what I did about my terrible soil. Great for souls, bad for food.
