HUH?? There are ultr-cons that believe elements of preterism. What's your point? Scripture's all that matters on the subject, not if libs or cons believe it.

I know some preterist ultra cons that would make the most conservative around here look like children. lol In fact, I found out that there were preterists in Canada for over thirty years who were only amongst the ultra cons in the UPCI up here.

More libs embrace elements of preterism... JMO through my observations. Maybe because many, if not most UC's are afraid of any kind of change?? They'd reject the notion of change BEFORE studying out a topic? Libs are more open to change and fall into preterism?? Whatev. I'm just rambling. Not that that's new.
Up here?? You left El Campo?

You know, you may be correct about ultra-con's, in that they see any "adjustment" to the beliefs they have always heard or taught as being compromise to even the point of not seeing whether those things were so.
They do not adhere to the concept of "Be Berean" (where did I hear that before? hmm)
Act 17:11 These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
And some of them fall into this part.
Pro 18:13 He that answereth a matter before he heareth it, it is folly and shame unto him.

We as a movement have been wrapped into the "we have the message" mentality (we do have the message) . I know many people who would probably walk away completely from God if he or she learned that he or she was wrong in one area. It could be something so simple as the 5 'o clock shadow, or the length of a shirt. Remove the spade and the house of cards completely collapses.
Anyway, how's the weather in your part of the valley? (you are in a nice community. "X" marks the spot. )

Re: Jesus' Second Coming?
You are correct in your assessment of the chronology but why couldn't Christ be referring to a non-physical parousia? That is exactly what he is referring to in John 14!
Christ's declaration in John is an eye opener to the disciples to start thinking "out of the box" which would certainly help some of our eschatology today. JMO!

Weather right now is terrific, but I am sure the 115 plus is on the way soon.

Don't talk to me about it. lol. We loved El Campo, and finances were too strained, though. The US recession hit the situation hard. Back in the great white north.

Re: Jesus' Second Coming?
Just Christ sitting on the right hand of power (Which also represents a place of judgement) is something we all know but tend to over look.
Matthew 26:64 Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven.
Acts 7:55 But he, being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up stedfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God,
So we all know He's in that place of judgement but we don't connect the dots. We are being judged right now, everyday. Yes there was a one time "Final" judgement of Israel but it's a continuation of time.
1 Peter 4:17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God?
Judgement begins at the "House of God," or the Temple, then the believers 2nd, and lastly those that refuse the gospel. All past tense now which isn't to say that we aren't being judged now because we are...

And just to add one last thought to that, today the Holy Ghost convicts us. If we are slow or unwilling to repent, he will allow us to be buffeted (Spiritually) until we make amends. I see this happen in my life all the time..
