Sean Hannity had something interesting to say the other day. Apparently there are a group of people who are intent on "infiltrating" the tea party, and doing things like holding up misspelled signs at rallies, spouting off racist comments and otherwise behaving badly. (They have a website that gives the details of their plan--I can't remember the address right off hand.) He advised tea party leaders to lay down firm ground rules for their groups regarding how members are to behave, and trust me--racism won't be tolerated in most areas. The Tea Party is NOT about racism, and these groups are going to actively work to remove anyone who purports such.

Never said it wasn't, just that it is scary how bad it used to be.
As far as Hannity, I assume he didn't have any facts to back up these "sleeper Tea Party cells"? There might be people that do that, but the majority of non Tea Party people don't pay that much attention to them.

There's no reason at all that the idea of a state-run militia to defend against the Federal Government's taxes would even get off the ground if it wasn't for the fact that this Democrat President is a black man.
Given Oklahoma's illustrious history when it comes to matters of race, it all solidifies it in my mind.
No I don't have any proof.
No I don't think that the idea has gotten to the place where some state lawmakers support this just because the Federal Executive is black.
It's just the gall and the resentment that this idea appears to be birthed from, and the anger it starts in me.
Ok. Feel free to tell me I'm wrong.

I know you didn't--I was just commenting. We lived there for 4 1/2 years, and I was shocked to my toes by the level of hatred there still is between blacks and whites--and it goes both directions.

He did have the facts. I just don't remember the details. I suppose if you go to his website you can dig it up. It was just a day or two ago--maybe Monday. The idea was to be a member of a Tea Party group and behave badly enough that the whole group looks bad. Of course, I agree that it's probably not going to be a BIG problem--just because there aren't enough liberals with time to take on such a big task. LOL!!!! (And how many of them truly feel comfortable infiltrating groups who still believe in the right to bear arms? )
I realize that most people don't pay attention to the ignoramuses, but threads like this make it clear that some people judge a whole group by the actions of a few. Wait...that reminds me of something else...maybe prejudice?

lol, I agree with you there. Kind of like thinking that most liberals do not believe in the right to bear arms? lol (I know you didn't say that directly, but it was too good to pass up).

hard for someone to see clearly when all they see is race.

Re: Ok, Now I Will Plea "Race"...
I had a friend just get out of jail after 6+ months. Said the jail was segregated with black cells and white cells. It's not officailly that way of course. It's just that everytime the put a white guy in a black cell or a black guy in a white cell a big fight starts.

Frog: This is true. I know someone that works in prisons and have seen documentaries where inmates were interviewed. It is a known fact that in prisons and jails inmates must choose a side, and it does align with ethnicity. I think that this shows that society will never get to a point where ethnicity will not be a factor at some level.
On the Immigration Issue: I'm sick and tired of those who walk around like there is not problem in this country. I am also sick and tired of people acting like the only illegal immigrants in the United States are from Mexico. When did illegal immigrant equate to Mexican ethnicity? It just blows my mind. I don't condone illegal immigrants being in this country period. I have felt the inequality from this very issue, and it ticked me off. I have been denied employment behind this issue and tuition assistance behind this issue. Enough is enough. This is a real life issue that can no longer be swept under the rug and needs to be dealt with, not looked at as a Mexican issue. I don't agree with there being militias, the government just needs to deal with the issue.
