Are you saying that Haywood and Urshan suggested that non-oneness will go to heaven? Meaning all they had to do was follow Acts 2:38? My Pentecostal History is a bit rusty.

Essentially ...

they believed Trinnies would be saved based on the light revealed to them ... while personally they did believe at their very core in Water and Spirt doctrine ... stating that water baptism is essential for our New Birth.


Their "allowance" as adherents to light doctrine ... for others to be saved may lead others to believe that they did not believe in absolute necessity of Acts 2:38 ... however, they very much preached water baptism as part of the New Birth.

In another of his writings, Haywood, remarks:

To be saved by water baptism, it must be administered in the name of Jesus, for there is “no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” The life of the Blood of Christ is connected with baptism when it is administered in His Name. It is not by water only, but by water and blood, and the blood is in His name. (See Acts 5:28)

In another article entitled Second Resurrection, Haywood asserts:

If we desire to take part in the first resurrection we must be
filled with the same Holy Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead. It
is the church of the First-born that takes part in the first
resurrection. To enter into that Church, which is his body, we must be
baptized into it by both water and the Spirit.
6:3-5; 1 Cor. 12:12, 13; Gal. 3:26-28.

Despite his feelings about that Jesus name baptism effectuated sin washing or the application of the blood he also wrote:

"The one question that is so often asked is, ‘are all those people who thought they were born of the Spirit, and were not, lost?' No, not by any means. They shall be given eternal life in the resurrection if they walked in all the light that was given them while they lived. God is a just Judge, and there is not unrighteousness in Him. But those who refuse to walk in the light shall be overtaken with darkness. (John 13:35, 36; see also John 15:22-24)." [G. T. Frank Ewart emphasized this Water and Spirit teaching also:

Water alone does not save us. “Not by water only but by water and blood.” The blood and the name of an individual are inseparable. John Smith’s son is a “Smith” no matter what other name you may give him, because he has Smith’s blood in him. By this I want to show that the Blood and Name are inseparable. You cannot honestly bear the name of Smith unless you have Smith’s blood in you; neither can you deny that you are a Smith as long as you have Smith’s blood in your veins.

Frank Ewart underscored the non-negotiable nature of the “new issue” relating to salvation when he wrote:

It is extremely dangerous in these last days, when apostasy abounds on every hand, to deny the necessity of the name of Jesus Christ. A church, denomination, organization, or assembly which refused to take the name of the Lord-Jesus-Christ in Christian baptism could never have a place in his Bride (Ewart, The Revelation of Jesus Christ)

Despite believing in regeneration being linked to water baptism and Spirit baptism ...
Frank Ewart, the a father of the modern Oneness Movement, wrote about parting with his dear friend when the Oneness camp left the AG.

But despite all these things our love for each other survived, and this divine love will be renewed in glory where we will all see eye to eye and doctrinal differences will never again intrude."

A.D. Urshan spoke very clearly on his thoughts of water baptism being linked to the New Birth in his book Apostolic Faith Doctrine of the New Birth ... yet wrote:

Q. Would these folks be lost if they had not gone on to the water and Spirit birth?
A. No, for when they continued to walk in the light they had, they consequently entered into the deeper and higher divine experiences. 1 John 1:4-7. Also John 8:31-36. [Evangelist Andrew D. Urshan, Apostolic Faith Doctrine of the New Birth, (Cochrane, WI, self-published, 1941), p. 13.]

Men like Haywood and Urshan had no problems fellowshipping and preaching for trinitarian brethren.

Haywood preached, it appears, regularly for the nascent Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada ... founded by trinitarians like RE McCalister ( of Arroyo Seco fame), Chambers and Oneness brethren like Goss and Frank Smalls.

Beginning in Toronto, Canada, the 14th of November, and continuing one month, it was our joy, with Elder George A. Chambers of Berlin, Ontario, Canada, to open this campaign in a large vacant church.

Our first audience numbered about a dozen. Before the meetings closed they had increased to six hundred. Having gone through our own invitation we did not ask or expect the cooperation of other missions or workers. The enemy was busy, by pen and voice, warning the people to stay away. “Heretics” and kindred epithets flew through the air and mails. Warnings and entreaties proved futile, for the people wanted to know about the one true God revealed in Jesus Christ our Savior. Soon the light began to break. God’s blessing and power fell upon the message. As many began to see the light, they desired baptism in the only name given under heaven among men, whereby we must be saved. (See Acts 4:12.) There was no baptistry in the church, but hearing of a transportable one gotten up through the ingenious mind of Elder R. E. McAlister of Ottawa, Ontario, we sent for it. It can be folded or put into a trunk. Eighty-four were baptized in His name, including eight or ten preachers. Among them was Elder T. H. Gilbert, in charge of one of the missions in Toronto.

Our meeting was in the neighborhood of three large universities. Many attended from these, and some of the theologians were baptized in His name, afterwards receiving the baptism of the Holy Spirit according to the scriptural pattern. Reports from Toronto since the meeting closed are that God is still blessing and great numbers are obeying and receiving the Holy Ghost.

Our next meeting was at Parry Sound, a beautiful little city on the shores of the Georgian Bay. Elder Alexander was in charge. He, his wife, and about all of his assembly saw the truth and were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

We arrived at Ottawa in time to attend the closing of Brother R. E. McAlister’s convention, conducted by Elder G. T. Haywood of Indianapolis, Indiana. He left for Kinburn with Brother Charles E. Baker to hold a convention. We continued the meeting for one week. About 112 were baptized in Ottawa in the only name given, during this great campaign. Brother Haywood was in Kinburn about ten days, and we continued through the week. I believe that fifty-six were baptized in the only name.

Our next meeting was in Berlin, Ontario, with Elder Chambers in his own mission. It had been our privilege open up that part of Canada to this wonderful message. The message was attended with revival fires. Hundreds obeyed the gospel and were baptized in the name that is above every name. A great number were healed and born into the kingdom of God while in the baptismal waters.

The fight is on, the battle is real, victory is sure in Jesus’ name.

Yes I was speaking about the reunion but ... referring to the schedule ... isn't there a part in which TLC will be honored? I was just wondering if Lanny and Marrietta were going to that part ....
