ORU Looking our Way? Bernard to Present 4/9

David K. Bernard, the UPCI's new superintendent, will be presenting a session @ Oral Roberts University's "Empowered 21", on 4/9 @ 2 pm.

His topic is the "Future of Oneness Pentecostalism"

About Empowered:

Quote:

Empowered21 is an intergenerational conference joining individuals from all around the world that will be held on April 8th-10th, 2010 at the Oral Roberts University campus. In December of 2008, the Commission on Holy Spirit Empowerment in the 21st Century was formed bringing together Christian scholars, church leaders and next generation participants to converse about the current manifestations of the Holy Spirit throughout the world' cultures, church denominations and generations. In total, 15 conversations will take place in five different continents asking questions such as,

■“In what ways can the Holy Spirit be seen moving in your part of the world today?”

■ “What are the challenges and opportunities the church faces today and how should we be responding as spirit-empowered believers?”

■“How can we effectively communicate and pass on the torch to the next generation of spirit-filled believers?”

Empowered21 will include over 190 learning sessions, 24/7 intercessory prayer, practical outreach experiences, spiritual heritage tours, dynamic luncheon events, scholarly presentations, international dialogue, intimate worship coordinated by Integrity Music/Media, ministry from a variety of spirit-empowered speakers and life-changing General Sessions.

While acknowledging the historic roots of the Spirit-filled movement, this conference will not be so much about the past, but rather about focusing on the future. It is our desire that as we join hands from generation to generation, continent to continent that we will experience and discover the purity, passion and purpose of Spirit-empowered living. We believe that God is going to bring a supernatural convergence in Tulsa as the streams of the Spirit-filled movement unite to focus our hearts and minds on the future and we would like to welcome you to join us in this journey.

I am curious how many will attend this split-session (one of 190) and whether it will be the springboard to the greatest end-time Apostlic revival, Bernard is predicting ...

as he shared in a recent Youth Division interview: " I believe we are entering the greatest time of apostolic revival the world has ever known." (source: http://insideout.pentecostalyouth.or...david-bernard/) :thumbsup

It also appears he will sit in on a panel discussion on the 10th with his trinitarian peers.

Other pressing questions for the impartation services is "Will the Holy Spirit show up among those that don't practice practical holiness as defined by Bernard?" and if they are Spirit-filled .... why haven't they been led to all truth?

Yes, Bro. Bernard sent his regrets to attend the JCM Reunion because he will be presenting his paper at ORU.

He will be fellowshipping with Charismatics that weekend, nonetheless.

Was he invited as a guest of honor?

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at the JCM Reunion since I hear that the WPF will be having a meeting in the same hotel on the same dates ....

I guess that works out well for TLC .... he can attend both meetings?

He was just invited as a former instructor, not a guest of honor.

TLC is the guest of honor.

Yes, it might prove to be very interesting. You wouldn't have to be a fly - you could just attend.

Hope to meet up with Epley and the Alvears if they are attending.

Re: ORU Looking our Way? Bernard to Present 4/9

Will Bernard make references to his "Apostolic Identity" agenda and will he include the light doctrine views of Oneness Pentecostals like AD Urshan and GT Haywood in his presentation to the Charismatic community this weekend? ...

as he did in the February issue of the Youth Division's Inside/Out:

Quote:

I believe that our priorities should be (1) to build on our foundation by emphasizing apostolic identity, apostolic unity, and apostolic revival; (2) to meet the challenges of our day through effective internal and external communication, efficiency of operations, and planning for appropriate and progressive change; and (3) focus on the dynamics of growth such as recruiting, training, and involving ministers and planting new churches and daughter works through a team approach. As an organization, we have set a goal to double in size, and I am committed to reaching that goal. I believe we are entering the greatest time of apostolic revival the world has ever known.

We should learn from the unsung heroes among us, including parents who have overcome adversity, faithful pastors, dedicated teachers, and youth who are serving God despite the apathy or opposition of unsaved family and friends. We also have great examples from the Bible and from our own Apostolic heritage, such as G. T. Haywood, Andrew Urshan, E. L. and Nona Freeman, and many other leaders and missionaries.

Great post Dan. I would love to attend this seminar at ORU. I think seminars like this make ORU the center of the Holy Spirit universe.

Do you have subscriptions to all these magazines? You are well informed.

I wish I could ... got to work this weekend ... and it's my BD.

I am sure that some of the thought bubbles coming from the WPF side might include:
"Do they have to flaunt their liberties so wrecklessly?" and
"Where's Lanny? Do I dare ask him for his autograph?"
