Do you remember the first time God gave you a message through the preached word that seemed as though the preacher was at your house that day and he had no way of knowing? What a blessing to know God cares.

What is so great about God is that he can use a preacher to speak that you know doesn't know your name or anything about you...and he reads your pedigree...Then you know how much God cares!

We have had this happen several times. My husband and I will discuss a scripture during the week and the minister will either preach on the same scripture or mention it in a sermon. It has gotten so common that it is almost freaky.

Last week, on Easter, our pastor had picked out a song for the closing hymn but didn't realize that we already had that planned for earlier in the service. So my husband and I just chose a song that we liked and stuck it in for the closing hymn instead. It wasn't even one that was in our hymnal. We ran it by our worship leader ahead of time and got her ok, then put it in the Power Point. Complete surprise to the pastor.
The amazing thing about all of this is that every point that the pastor preached about last week was then included in the lyrics to the closing hymn (that he had never even heard before!)
Just another of God's little miracles. Isn't He amazing!

Sister Marge,
Isn't it great to know God cares for you enough to do such a beautiful thing?
One day before I was married on my job someone received a huge bouquet of flowers.I saw them and the thought crossed my mind,"I would love someone to give me flowers." Then I forgot about it.When I got home one of the young girls I took to Sunday school was racing to meet me down the street clutching a large brown paper bag.She opened it up and pulled out a huge
silk bouquet of flowers and said,"I brought these for you Sister Dana." That made my day. What a blessing when Jesus even cares about little things you think and desire.I am so glad that our God is alive.

Trouvere,
God is good this way! I was so worried this year that I wouldn't receive anything for Valentine's day...I was in a new place, left my old friends behind, and even lost a love in the past year, but while I was at work I received a fresh bouquet of flowers from a friend in Florida and a package from my sister and I felt so blessed/loved. God cares about the little things...those little things that mean so much.
Blessings, Rhoni

You are so right Sister Rhoni. The lady who works with me was doing insulin
injections this am and when I got myself something to drink in the break room I got her something as well. She told me affectionatately .....I like you the best...even if you don't buy me anything. We were so exhausted from the hard work we do.I think its the same with us and Jesus. We like Him the best even if He doesn't do all the little extras but the extras make it so much easier and are so encouraging. He never lets us down. When He said He would never leave us nor forsake us in the word He mean't it.God is so good.Have a great service today.Jesus bless you.

To Obey is Better than Sacrifice
1Sa 15:22 And Samuel said, Hath the LORD [as great] delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey [is] better than sacrifice, [and] to hearken than the fat of rams.
This is the scripture I used with my daughters tonight to explain some feelings I have concerning disobedience when you have been asked point blankly to do some things and you do not.
One was really upset as she is punished for two weeks with no phone or
outing's.The reason being that I fund her completely and she does no more than sleep or eat or use my car or computer.I simply ask that she do some minute chores and keep up her personal space. This is not alot to ask from someone you bless and encourage and are trying your hardest to support and guide. However the chores remained undone as of today and I blew up like a volcano.I repented of the anger and then made dinner.
The words of my daughter to me were that I am so mean and unreasonable. This got me to really thinking. Not that the punishment is lifted etc but it did get me thinking.
Its not that I don't love my children but with all I do and have done for them
I expect them to obey my word. Its nothing too hard or to imposing but simply
some things they need to do for their own good and the good of the family.
Taking this to another level.I explained to my daughters how King Saul when he was so blessed of the Lord forgot his station and blessing was from God and took advantage of it and began to act independently and tried even to turn his disobedience into a blessing and declare it in his own eyes a blessing when the truth of the matter is He disobeyed God.It cost him much and he could never regain it.Disobedience never pays off.
When you love someone and they are blatantly disobedient you don't stop loving them but it angers you. That anger may turn into wrath for a bit.I remember how many times the Word of the Lord told the children of Israel,"For a little while I was angry with you or you incurred my wrath but then I remembered." How can we not look at our children and remember when they were younger and many of the good times and mercy not come upon us?
Jesus loves us as a parent loves a son or daughter. When someone is standing there in the midst of undone chores with a huge smile handing you a bouquet of flowers its hard to see the flowers when the undone pile of dirty laundry is surrounding them.Get the picture?
Sometimes we want to offer God praise and worship but the undone things and the disobedience so far out weighs the flowers.
This is my prayer today:
Jesus help me to obey you even when my flesh would rather just enjoy your provision and blessing.
