I noticed today when I was reading a news aritcle online about the special service that Baptist church had Sunday night after their pastor was shot Sunday morning they described people praying with their hands raised and outstretchec. Not something you would have read about a Baptist service a few years ago!

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Perhaps you should be worried and separate yourselves from the world. Sure don't want to appear to be worshipping like them.

Yes, next thing you know someone might say that "even the Baptists will be in the Bride of Christ."

The Lord inhabits the praise of His people. Doesn't matter what denomination they are.

Am I less than Pentecostal for NOT worshiping in this way? It seems to me that many churches, particularly UPC churches, equate a move of God with loud music and an over empahasis on emotionalism. Weird that you don't see any of this in the book of Acts.

You know, if you look at all those Praise Break videos on you tube, you'll see more paganism in them than true worship of God.

You know those are fighting words...

But you're right. Very, very right.

I've never seen the Praise Break videos, but what things in them are paganism?
