In a place I use to work at, the men would shake their head in disbelief at some of "our women" when they came in blue denim jean skirts and tennis shoes.
Someone would usally inform me that some bun ladies were on the floor and ask if I wanted to wait on them?
What is really the point of this? There are rude people everywhere. It's sad.

I think we all know it's the dividing of the garment that is the issue.
Oh I may as well take it another step further.
Is it the Jean you're not a fan of, or the skirt?
Since many of my friends who are not of my Pentecostal persuasion love thier jeans and wear them as much as possible.
Arph,
what do you mean by the dividing of the garment?
they divided Christs garments.

I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945
"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves

Cindy's right. There are rude people everywhere.
Do you even realize how many dowdy looking women there are wearing pants out there? My word man... wake up. There are dowdy looking people in the Weslyan church down the street from ours. There are dowdy looking people in my church, and there are men who look just as dowdy as women.
I look dowdy right now with my hair down around my face.
Get over it. Whether a person is fashionable or not is unimportant.
That said, there are people in my church who are not dowdy, do not wear jean skirts continually and do not wear tennis shoes and bobby socks with their skirts.
I personally don't care how fashionable someone is. I care if they are clean and sensible and Christ-like. You can wear a dress down to your ankles in the shower and still have a nasty attitude. You can look like you've just walked off the pages of People Magazine and still have a nasty attitude.
So again I ask, is it the jean you're not a fan of, or the skirt itself?

Psalm 19:14
Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
According the "official" interpretion of Duet 22:5 Denim was a material made a designed for men that worked in harsh conditions. The material held well. Denim is definetly a material that "pertains to men"
But yet in our churches it's like a ladies uniform.
It's the inconsistency of our standards that irks me, on the issues of what a woman can wear.

Asked and answered mamm, I could care less weather you wear slacks or dress or skirts......I ME it's just ME that i can't stand the jean skirt bobby sox and sneakers look that I see as I walk thru WalMart.
and most of these women at WalMart are not "our folks". We have a Bible Missionary College" here and those folks are more screwed up than us on standards issues
