FTR HF,
I am an ordained minister of the UPCI.
I preach outside the organization frequently and have never had an issue like this come up, until recently when I preached for an ex-upcer.

I have been licensed for 12 years and can tell you that even with it's problems, I am still happy to be a member of the UPCI.

I think we need to be careful to note that what we are talking about here is not happening in every District and to every one that has left the UPC.
In general we are talking about a few isolated instances.

DG,

I think Pastor A is saying you are not lying ... He's saying that if they did use this as a threat that it was an empty one since they cannot do what they said. Many authoritarians will assume one does not know their rights.

Leaving the evangelist to either guess who they are speaking about or call up/email to find out what the problem is.

Since when is this a violation of the manual? Preaching for a non-licensed preacher?

Apparently some of the letters are non-specific and do not mention names as to not have a paper trail that could be used in a libel or defamation suit.

This is a scary tactic, IMO
What ... and you thought they'd be more open and honest about their motives and feelings concerning the individuals under question ... whomever they may be.

There are great men in these organizations HF .... My dad was one of them .... I have heroes in the UPCI too.

Whenever you join a fellowship ... place your family first ... then decide if their structure is beneficial to your ministry and vision.

Dan,
you are correct in your post.
I'm not saying that DG is lying, i'm saying that someone from the MS Board might have been playing 'hard ball' but in reality they had no authority to pull a man's license when he belongs to another district.

Or maybe even consistent w/ the manual ... like hypothetically 2 board members taking their families to a rock concert recently?

The UPCI is eventually going to regulate itself out of existence.

doubt that.

with it's problems and issues the UPC still stands as the largest UPC organization in the world.
Largest Foreign Missions effort amongst Apostolics...

Like I said prior, we are talking about a few isolated instances here.

Re: Resolution 3 Massacre Begins in South Texas Di

Also of note ... a reading of the manual appears to state that an entire church can be placed under question ... I thought it was just a minister who was licensed.

Can anyone verify this? Does anyone know what Article V says about this?
