I'll give the Ohio district the benefit of the doubt. i suspect they don't track the news. If this was called to their attention, I suspect they had the little meeting of elders and a couple witnesses and used the biblical template to help Bro Monk see that this Monk ee business should result in giving him more time with his family and seeking other opportunities.

Just thinking all this through - and had this thought.

First, let me say that I'm thankful for our laws and agree with anyone under 18 is considered a minor.

However, think back in history - - it was nothing for a young maiden to be taken in arranged marriages and it was considered the norm.

If we check back to our great-grandmothers many of them were married under the age of 18.

Just thinking outloud.

Not very sarcastic. I suspect they condensed some steps and accelerated the time line. Did they act more swiftly than the 500 million egg recall? Sure looks like it.

Also....and I tread softly here......but he did say his daughter was 20 now and to this day will say there was nothing she did wrong. There was no way for me to know from that that he lost his beloved daughter and every reason for me to assume she was still with us. Just sayin'....

I have my first pages in the company hand book on sex harrassment come out 15 years ago. One case was 3 minutes investigation on my part, 2 parties separately talked less than 5 minutes each and the person leaving was putting pictures on a box etc. It was fast tracked.
The bible wants us to avoid even appearances of sexual misconduct.
