Ironic some of the same people condoning gossip say you'll split hell open if your Godhead views are different than theirs.

Gossip is acceptable because it allows people to feel good about their sins.

The Bible makes it clear it is morally wrong. Your opinion doesn't help the situation. Scripture after scripture has been posted why this thread isn't Christlike.

Why don't you go away if it offends you so much?

Where do you think the salary information of a church should be available?

If you are a supporting member of the church, that's one thing.....but, if you are not, it's really none of your business or mine how much any pastor of any church makes......but, I am curious as to where you think this info should be posted for the general public's perusal?

Well, in actuality, a non-profit organization is supposed to make their books public. You can find out the salaries of CEOs and leaders of non profits anywhere from the American Red Cross to the United Way. I have a problem with churches that want to be categorized with such entities but then won't conduct their finances in the same way. It's actually required by law. So what Barry is asking is not beyond the pail. And Barry is correct in stating that since the church finances were veiled in such secrecy it's not unreasonable to try find out information that should be made freely and openly on the Internet. There have been several members of this church who have found out more on this thread than has been revealed. When people act like they have something to hide, that means they probably have something to hide.

Don't let folks intimidate you off of here Barry.

Re: Prominent Memphis Area Pastor Resigns

I am beginning to think this thread needs to die. This is NOT the place to find out or ask what any church's financial arrangements are.

But THIS forum is NOT the place for that. IMO

What's funny Barry72 is people reading through the thread and reading all the updates, and THEN getting all sanctimonious, preachy and self righteous about the content of the thread.

Reminds me of the preacher who would fly into St. Louis frequently to attend Cardinals games but then would rail on his young people about playing sports at school.
