I never understood how you guys keep your cool back behind the plate. I remember as a kid, Steve Yeager getting his throat cut by splinter bat and I knew I would never play that position.!!!
Ironically, Steve Yeager was the one who invented that plastic tongue looking throat guard that hung from the catcher's mask. Later most had a cage that extended down.
Catcher is the best position on the planet. As you will notice, most major league coaches who were players were Catchers. Joe Torre, Mike Socia, Tony Pena, Dave Duncan, etc...

Our church men's softball team won both of their games Monday!! Woo hoo! It was the first night they played. Up until this year, we have NOT had good teams, but this year we got a bunch of new young guys and they are awesome. We beat one of the big Baptist churches in town, so they were hyped over that.

Most of our guys are in their thirties I think. We do have some young-uns.
Its a nice mix, and we seem to be improving. Our defense is what needs the most work.
