St.Matt,
I have never been to this church but I do know that many churches have a lot of people in Sunday School classes on Sunday mornings that can make the church appear smaller than it is in the sanctuary.
Of course, on the other hand, if this is a typical old fashioned Pentecostal church where the "big" service is Sunday night that should be a pretty good judge of how many go to church there.

CC1, you hit the nail on the head. There are probably 150-200 people that are involved in sunday school, music, tv production, in the choir, etc. The choir is about 75-100 people. So there are alot of un accounted for people on sunday morning. But yes the Sunday night service is the "BIG" service there. It is not like how it is at some churches everyone is pack in shoulder to shoulder.

It goes like this:
1. Something unthinkable to the majority of us is mentioned; it produces shock, outrage, etc. But it is talked about.
2. The talking causes people to consider the various sides of the argument. Points are made on the various sides.
3. What was once "unthinkable" is therefore thought about; but we'd never do it!
4. Now that the "shock" of the thought has worn off; we become desensitized to the thought. More debate, arguement and consideration leads some to think it's okay.
4. What was once unthinkable becomes thinkable.
5. What is thinkable, becomes doable.
It happens all the time. Read "The Marketing of Evil" by Kupelian and you'll see many recent examples in our society. It's already had its influence in the church.

Then, like I pointed out, there is nothing you nor I can do about it...the slippery slope started with video. That is all I heard back then...allow video and it will open the flood gates for everything else. If that is true then we are already on the slippery slope. Radio contributes, Internet contributes...video etc etc..we are doomed

Has that not happened? You know it has. UPC Homes today are filled with it.
It has led to us now looking at TV as a viable option.
I'm tellin' ya, Prax...Logic and fallacy.
This TV deal is another step in the process of idolatry.

He turned the water into wine-made the blind to see-raised the dead maybe that is how 1000 folks fit into a building that seats 600???? Thse empty seat were reserved so they are actually taken you calling things that are not as though they are. Faith?????????????????????
I was in NC once and their had just been an article about this church running about 300 it was a new home mission church we went by the building and miracle of miracles you couldn't stuff 100 people in the building standing. But little is much if.......................................is in it????????
Just claim it by faith. Tonight in our service we will have about 3000 folks there! I have no idea where we would seat them but that doesn't matter just the report matters.

You are proving my point. If it was a slippery slope then it is going to happen anyways and nothing you can do to stop it. Or, the truth is, people just over time have decided on their own to accept these things regardless of resolutions. I knew people that watched TV before there was a video resolution. One can make any sort of argument and build a slippery slope like you are doing. If what you are saying is true then perhaps we should not only get rid of video, but interent too and radio because they might lead to the next step
People should not go bowling where they serve beer because that persons next step is to go to a bar and become an alcoholic. Where does it stop?

Vote "NO" at Tampa.
Will the snowball keep rolling or will it smash into a thousand pieces against a rock?
We'll see, I reckon.

I agree, and I don't think we'll "see" for some time, if it does pass.

I know that if everyone shows up there at one time for the same service there would not be enough seats. The sanctuary sits about 700 with the balcony, I believe. But unless the church had a GREAT falling away then I believe you are wrong. They may not run 900, but they are every bit of 800+. What is your name maybe I know you?

Well, I attended both morning and night services, and the place was not full either. The balcony was not used either time. And the night service had less than the morning service. I would figure the balcony seats approx 100 at tops, so with the fact that you have just stated that the current sanctuary seats about 700 with the balcony, I am pretty close in my estimate that there was 400 or less in the services I was in.

You are a cynic that has no faith if you had faith you would have understood there was about 2000 there more or LESS! And 1600 saw the television show that day.
