Exactly. The tax that ANY business entity pays is merely another expense in the "Cost of Goods Sold" ledger. Liberals like to think that someone is being punished when businesses are fined and taxed, but in reality only the customers are.

Re: 8 miles of truckers

There are ways to prevent business from passing the cost down to the consumer. But those are stronger measures than I think most Americans would be happy with, especially the businesses.

I understand that business passes the taxes back down to us as it stands right now. That’s why I’m not willing to tax them into oblivion. However, it’s a time of war and I feel everyone is trying to bill our grandchildren. We’re going to have to suck it up and pay for this mess. I don’t want my grandson to have to pay for it.

I just don’t understand how America can’t get this right. We’re one screwed up country. I’ve been in other countries and while they don’t live like we do…evidently we’re living well beyond our means….they have basics like health care. It just bothers me. Hey, chalk it up to being young. When I’m an old fogy like you maybe I’ll understand it a lot better. LOL

Re: 8 miles of truckers

lets do a fun little exercise here.

lets say the government charges something like a 20% windfall tax to oil companies.

lets say right now oil companies make 9% on every gross dollar they charge.

so on 1 dollar they make 9 cents.

but now lets at 20 cents to each of those dollars to cover the windfall profit tax.

now that 1 dollar costs the consumer 1.20 right? well maybe but more likely, that oil company will make 9% on that new 20 cents they are charging wich is something like 1.8 cents. so now, that old 1 dollar it cost us, now costs us almost $1.22

why? all because the stupid government decided oil companies made too much money.

now that is really dumb.

Thanks for your vote of confidence Ferd. I know we’ll make it. If God takes you to it…he’ll bring you through it.

That is an absolute fact! bro, you have options! start looking for a better paying job! if you cant find one in your town MOVE!

(My family moved 300 miles from a farm to the city). I KNOW what that takes.

In 1995, I moved 300 miles away from both my parents and my wife's parents. it was HARD. but we did what we needed to do.

dont look for answers from washington MAKE YOUR OWN!

You are well able!

I lumped the two posts together here because they are along the same lines. We’re running deficits and fighting a war. We’re going to have to pay for it one way or another. It seems to me like you want the benefit of having a government and waging war…but you don’t want anyone to pay for it unless they’re already unable to pay their bills. These companies are far more likely to survive paying higher tax rates. Families can choose to buy gasoline for their SUVs or ride bicycles. Either way, we have to pay. One way breaks the government the other way funds it. One way shifts the tax burden to individuals and the other allows them a choice. It seems to me like unless an individual is a company they just don’t matter.

Thanks bro. I know what I believe God has called me to do. But, right now I'm jumping hoops. You know how that is. FRUSTRATING

Right now working for the government is far more secure than the private sector around here. But when the door opens...I'm outa here.
