Public access television. Low power television stations. Some cable companies have dedicated channels dedicated to local programming. The television station we get our free time on is seen in at least 3 counties, one a college town.

I honestly don't think funds exist to support this.

No - just referring to the "overworked director". If it becomes a division they would probably need a Sec/Treas and support staff.

The funding is the big hurdle that the spanish brothers will have to overcome. If they want a division they will have to pay for it.

The last thing we need is a new division of any kind. We can't even afford to run what we have now. That's why the depts who accept donations are covering a marketing deficit, a media dept deficit and so on.

Harvestime/Media has always carried a deficit - even in the best of the boom times. Media's deficit problems are more accumulated than current.

Possibly - although I am not quite as cynical as you.
First - let's wait and see if the Spanish churches pony up. It's a long ways from being a done deal.

Spanish churches refused to buy the stuff because it didn't meet their needs. Why would you keep publishing it - and it is still available electronically I think - if nobody is going to buy it.
Tell the Spanish ministers to stop asking for a Spanish Division - that would do it.
BTW the Spanish Division is not a done deal. They've got to prove that they have the resources before it will ever become a reality.

Oh man, I'm trying to leave - cold turkey.

We would start a new division because the pastors of the 500 plus spanish churches are asking for it. Plain and simple.
Plus the fact that this is one of the fastest growing areas in the UPCI. Maybe try to hang with the curve instead of being behind it.
I'm not a Spanish expert - although I can speak a little.
Perhaps this will help us to stop putting out junk - instead of translating english materials - letting them develop their own.

Well I don't know about you, but if I am in a deficit I stop spending.

Seems odd to be adding more levels of bureaucracy when we can't even effectively manage what we have.

PPH is at a $1.5 million deficit. Where does the money come from to cover that? I would imagine from the same place this new division will get its funding. Donations from other, more solvent, divisions.

That is an undue burden on vital missions programs that have proven financially viable.
